Message from Owner

This past Saturday, our precious friend Shadow went out for the night and never came home. Shadow is a very kind, sweet cat who has learned to love people. She has been part of our family for years. Before finding her forever home with us, she was a neighborhood outdoor cat, so she may be comfortable around people and familiar with the area. Our family is absolutely heartbroken, and we miss her more than words can express. About Shadow: 🐾 Black and white (tuxedo) cat 🐾 Very friendly and food-motivated 🐾 Loves attention from people 🐾 Distinctive white stripe down her nose and white paws If you see Shadow, please try to keep an eye on her or, if possible, offer her some food and attention to encourage her to stay nearby. 📞 Please call or text us any time, day or night: Even the smallest sighting could help bring Shadow home. Please share this post with friends, neighbors, and local community groups. Thank you for helping us look for our beloved Shadow. ❤️

Put something out with familiar smells on it like litter box, bedding, or unwashed clothes, n some food. Check garages out and if you have, ask neighbors to do the same thing. Walk at around your yard or neighborhood at night with a flashlight n shaking a bag of treats softly calling kitty's name or a phrase kitty responds, stop and listen for a reply back to you n watch for glowing eyes looking at you. Look under brush, bushes n shrubs and look up in trees as kitty may be stuck and can't get down. Put up posters with a clear picture on it and contact information. If you have a trail cam, put it out to see if your kitty is coming around at night. You may need to set a live trap n monitor it regularly. If your kitty is microchipped, make sure the contact information is current and the chip is registered with the chip provider. You can check the chip number at American Animal Hospital Association Microchip Registry Look-up. If it's registered, it should come up with who the provider is. Click the link, log in or create an account, enter your contact info, description, n pics. If it doesn't come up with a provider, it may not have been registered. You can register the microchip with a provider like HomeAgain, SmartTag, AKReunite for a one-time fee of $14 I believe, then it's free for life This is how I found out one of my kitty's microchip was not registered. They generally don't go far from home n will find a place to hide that they will feel safe in. Don't lose hope your kitty will be found. I pray your little one will be found soon, safe n sound. Keep us posted. 🐾😿😢💔🙏🏻🙏🏻

They are usually closer than you think scared/hiding (unless not fixed). It can be over a week before they venture out for food. Don’t rely on neighbors seeing your missing kitty posts. Dawn and dusk when it’s quieter are good times to go looking and softly call for your cat. *Live traps work well but must be monitored often. Talk to all neighbors and physically check yourself all surrounding sheds, garages, under bushes and decks (5 house radius). Give your mail carrier a pic with phone # on it. Check and post on Nextdoor, PawBoost, PETFBI, and Petco Love Lost. If they come back, chip and clip if not already done. 🐱
