Description

He’s a grey short haired cat. He doesn’t really meow, he mostly chitters. He was wearing a green collar with a reflective stripe on it.

Message from Owner

Please help me get him back. He’s 1 of 3 siblings and everyone is struggling without him. He’s the biggest sweetest baby. He likes to rub his whiskers against people and he’ll chitter when he wants something (kind of sounds like a little money). I’ve lost one before and I really don’t want to go through the heartache of losing another pet. Please help me bring him .

—Do Not leave out litter box. Leave out your fur baby’s blanket or bed. —Go to every business nearby and neighbor and ask them to check crawl spaces, bats, garages, sheds, under decks, etc. —you should check and have neighbors and businesses also Check water heater closet, behind oven or washing machine dryer etc - any space a cat could get into —Flyer if they aren’t home. All over. —Posters. —They’re usually very close by unless they got chased. —Check up trees at night. ******❤️❤️ Dusk (and even night, but especially dusk) and Dawn - these are good times to sit outside and talk loud enough for pets to hear you, but without panic in your voice. Talk to yourself. Hum. A friend’s cat went missing and she almost gave up after 2 weeks. She was sitting outside on her front steps one early evening and just talking and singing, sleep deprived. Then she was talking to herself. Her cat walked right up to her. It can’t hurt. Hear mama’s or papa’s voice, without panic. —Put reward amount on flyer 🙏 —when you check for messages here, check “message requests” - usually 3 lines/bars or so to click to find that option.

You’ll find him! My Opie was gone for 2 weeks once and he just showed back up. They don’t go far. I agree with alerting neighbors. One of mine called me at work when she spotted him, and luckily I was only 15 minutes away. I rushed home, saw him under a neighbor’s deck, called out and he came right to me. He was dirty and hungry but otherwise ok.

So sorry to hear that your cat is missing, here are some things that might help in your search. Put out things that smell like your cat, like their toys, bed, definitely their favorite food and water. And things that smell like you such as a shirt or blanket. Double check every place in your house, and garage, and in the bushes around your house. Cats will hide in the darndest places. Get flyers up in the area and make sure your neighbors are all aware to be on the lookout. Post on PawBoost and all the Lost Pet sites for where you live, and those will get shared. Constantly check with all of the animal shelters and they're posting a lot their intakes on Facebook. Also check with vets in the area. You can set out a humane trap and see if you can catch your kitty that way. If your cat is micro chipped, which I hope it is, check with the microchip company in case somebody finds your cat . If you have Ring or other security cameras outside, check those, and ask neighbors if they can check theirs as well. And if you've heard about coyotes in the area, please don't continue to let them outside. Please bring them inside and keep them inside to keep them safe going forward.
