Description

Lulu is a female budgie who has been missing for over one month from South Plainfield, NJ, near Day Street and Hamilton Boulevard. She has a silver metal band on her right leg. Her chest is a soft olive green color, and she has unique markings that make her easy for me to recognize. Her cere (the area above her beak) is slightly bluish, which can sometimes be mistaken as a male, but she is a female. She is very loved and has a family waiting for her at home.

Message from Owner

I believe Lulu has been found. Someone posted a picture of a budgie they found in Edison, and after comparing the pictures, I am certain she is my Lulu because of her metal band, coloring, and unique features. I have spoken with the person who has her, but I am still trying to bring her home. Please understand that a slightly blue cere does not mean a budgie is always male. I know my bird, and I recognize Lulu. Lulu has a family that loves her and has been searching for her every day. If anyone knows the person who found her or can help reunite us, please contact me. I only want my baby bird safely back home.

Praying you find your baby. Don’t give up! 🙏🏼 Hoping he’s saved ASAP! Outside is so dangerous for them. They’re indoor pets only and they need to be in a safe indoor warm environment. Also, post this on the citizen app and the ring app so the neighborhood is aware and alert. You can also post it on pawboost. Or whichever neighborhood app is in your area. Also, put posters around the area. Post on Parrots 911 🦜with location You can also try a bird feeder infront your house to see if it’ll lure him back home. Or play budgie noises to locate him and see if he will come. 🙏🏼 WAYS TO CATCH A DOMESTIC BIRD OUTSIDE There are 3 main ways to catch a domestic bird outside. 1st - you can try to throw a large sheet or towel over the bird and secure in a box with breathing holes cut out or a carrier with small barring. 2nd - you can try to catch the bird with either a butterfly or fishing net and secure in the same manner. 3rd- you can try to use a small bird cage with a string attached to one of the doors, with the string keep the door open, place bird seed and water in the cage, once the bird is secure inside the cage , let the string go. This only works if you have time to watch the cage. You can also use a hose. Not too strong though you don’t want to hurt them. So he’ll be wet and he won’t be able to fly while he’s wet so it’ll be easier to pick him up and take him inside. (Only do this when it’s hot outside and nothing else works. Not when it’s cold) Even if you do not find his owner please rescue him and take care of him for the time being so that he’ll be safe. Everyday is very crucial and even if you don’t find the owner you can keep him, find a safe bird rescue / shelter in your area or rehome him to a trusting loving him. But please don’t just leave him there. Please be VERY careful when you have budgies. Their safety and health are priority. It’s very hard to find them when they fly away and accidents can easily happen, they are small and delicate. Windows and doors should be closed at all times. If you ever have a window open it needs to have a secure mesh. AVOID kids and animals near them. AVOID anything toxic like garlic, onions, avocados and chocolate. AVOID teflon cookware because it’s fatal, and avoid any fumes or toxic smells like Lysol, essential oils or perfume spray. A clean environment is a must. Message me anytime if you need any advice. 🙏🏼 Electrolyte recipe you can add to his drinking water to help his immune system from what he went through outside 1 cup water 1/2 tablespoon sugar 1/8 teaspoon baking soda 1/8 teaspoon salt

HELP PLEASE 👇🏼 I want to inform that yesterday I spoke with the person who posted the picture of the budgie. They found her and currently have her in Edison, although they did not specify exactly where. Unfortunately, after speaking with them, they do not want to return her. When I spoke with these people, I felt that they have become attached to her. I truly appreciate that they have been taking care of her and feeding her these past days, but they need to understand that she must be returned. I only want her to come back home to her family. To me, Lulu is not just a budgie, she is my baby. I also ask them to please put themselves in my position. I would be deeply grateful, but they cannot keep her simply because they found her or because they think she is a male, because she is not. I am completely certain that she is my Lulu. I recognize her by her features, her color, her chest, and especially by the metal band on her leg. Even though her cere (nose area) looks a little bluish, that does not mean she is male. Many people confuse this, but there is a difference between a strong blue cere and a light bluish one. Lulu is female and already an adult; she even has babies. It is very sad to know that, even seeing that her family is looking for her, they do not want to return her. If anyone knows these people, please, their contact information is in the post (you can access it through the link). I kindly ask for your help to bring my Lulu back. She has a family that loves her and is waiting for her.
