Message from Owner

PLEASE HELP US FIND THE FAMILY WHO ADOPTED OUR DOG DOUGHBOY! ❤️🐾 You may know him as Thor, but to us he’s Doughboy. He was my emotional support dog during one of the hardest times in my life. He was born February 17, 2024, and he was truly my little shadow. Shortly after moving to Las Vegas, he somehow slipped away. I searched everywhere. I checked every shelter page, called around, and posted everywhere I could. Eventually I learned he had been picked up and taken to The Animal Foundation. By the time I called, they told me he had already been adopted the day before. They said they tried contacting the owner listed on the microchip, but when I had attempted to update it before, something must have gone wrong because it still had the previous owner’s name and his old name on it. Animal ID: A1396413 Found: October 27, 2025 Shelter: The Animal Foundation (Las Vegas) We have tried to accept that he has a new family now, and we truly hope he is loved and happy. We are NOT trying to take him back. But the truth is… we still talk about him all the time. My kids still ask about him, and I still find myself watching videos of him with tears in my eyes. We even emailed the shelter asking if they could simply forward our message to the adopter so they could contact us if they were open to it. We completely understood they couldn’t share personal information. Unfortunately, they denied that request. So reaching out like this is honestly our only hope. If you adopted a dog named Thor around late October 2025 from The Animal Foundation, or know someone who did, please reach out. We would just love the chance to see him one last time and say a proper goodbye so our family can finally have closure. From one dog lover to another… it would mean the world to us. ❤️ Please share — you never know who might recognize him

I know!! I didn’t even ask them for any personal information. I just asked if they could forward my email so the adopter could decide if they wanted to contact me. You’d think that would be the most humane thing to do. Honestly, I feel like if they had just passed along my message back then, the new owners might have been more open to giving him back than they might be now. 😏

UPDATE‼️ I was able to find the new owner’s information by looking up Doughboy’s microchip on the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. So far the only information I have is the owner’s name (Erin L.) and that they renamed him Apollo. I sent a message through the registry letting them know I found him. Now it’s just a matter of whether they see the message and respond. I feel so close! I don’t know why I didn’t thing of doing any of this sooner !Thank you all so much for the support, shares, and help. Please keep sharing just in case it helps reach them. ❤️

I wish TAF had been willing to send a message to his adopters for you. Something very much like this happened recently where I live (Seattle). A lost dog went to the county shelter and then to our local private humane society (which is very far from where the dog was found). The owners found out where he was just slightly too late. But the humane society contacted the adopter, who voluntarily returned the dog to them to be reunited with his owner. The adopter could have refused, but they were given the opportunity to decide for themselves.
