Message from Owner

Please help us understand finding Kiri. She is a British Shorthair, 10 month old kitten, the cynosure of our household, and adored by my kids. She was lost in Turney Woods, Streetsville yesterday on Jun 10 around 7 pm. My 10 year old son is devastated so please help us find her !

Did she go missing from the walking trail? Which coloured area? Where did she go missing from your home if it’s close by? She’s going to be hiding in somebody’s yard or around their house It’s important to do posters in handouts in that area to get sightings. Once you have sightings, I can help you set up a trap to catch her. I have some equipment. I can also make the posters and handouts for you again for free Please reach out to me if you want help. I’m a volunteer for Ninth Life Cat Rescue of Ontario and Healing Hearts Lost Pet Search & Recovery Everything is always 100% free never charge for any help. There’s no guarantees either. But we can do everything possible to try and find her starts with posters and handouts. If you want help messaged me some good pictures of her and I can try and put those together for you.

She went missing IN the park? Where exactly ? Which way did she run ? She’s not gonna stay in the park. She’s likely going to find the closest homes and then hide around them. It’s really important to give everybody in that area a poster or handle. I can make the handouts for you for free if you want please reach out to me.

Phone Mississauga Animal Services to report him missing in case he’s found and turned in. Put up posters all over the neighbourhood. Go out and walk the area at night while calling for him and shaking a bag of treats. They can hear you better at night and usually aren’t too far from home. Good luck!

Checking neighbors backyard properties is crucial. (Neighbors will not check as thoroughly as you will, or at all, so ask them if you can check) Indoor cats will hide quickly after getting outside. Check under bushes and remember, when afraid, they won’t respond to you calling them. Someone in my area had their cat get out and she found him 3 and a half weeks later only 4 houses away hiding in a backyard under patio furniture. The only reason he was detected was because the lady who lived there happened to look out her window and see him under the table in the backyard and recalled seeing the lost cat notice on our community FB page. It was November also so was cold and the furniture outside was covered so was a good hiding place. -put out (unwashed) cat bed/blankets/your clothes that smell of home -put up posters in your area- important-not everyone is on facebook + if someone sees your cat but cannot find your lost cat post -leave a bat window or garage door open enough they can get in.
