Message from Finder

This big guy was found roaming by himself yesterday 4/21 at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa around 4:30pm. He is about 70lbs, not fixed, and very very friendly. He kept trying to jump in every car and was chasing them leaving the parking lot, poor guy! He was picked up by Costa Mesa Animal Services and taken to Priceless Pets rescue on Newport Blvd in Costa Mesa. I was unable to bring him in my car because I had my dog with me and wasn’t sure if they’d get along.

Ashley Vendetta - thank you for helping this sweet fur baby and I hope his owners are searching for him too. Here’s some additional guidance steps to do if you haven’t already: 🐶 IF YOU FIND A LOST DOG 🐶 Please take these steps to help reunite them with their family: 1. Post Online: Share on local lost & found pet pages and apps like: • Nextdoor • PawBoost • Ring (Neighbors app) • Local Facebook groups 2. Scan for a Microchip: Take the dog to a vet or animal shelter to scan for a chip. Many rescuers also carry scanners - ask around! 3. Put Up “FOUND DOG” Signs: Hang posters in the neighborhood - NOT everyone uses social media. 4. File a Found Report with Your Local Shelter. This is essential and often legally required. 5. Foster if You Can: If safe and possible, keep the dog in your care until the owner is found. Be sure to request proof of ownership (photos, vet records, etc.).

That was my thought too, but he has trimmed nails, and looks super healthy and is really sweet, so I’m hoping he has someone out there who loves him and is looking for him… he’s not fixed, so maybe he caught the smell of a lady dog and got out?

Thank you for being so kind to help this fur baby and for posting this post. Hope he wasn’t dumped, based on your comment about him trying to jump in every car and was chasing them… that’s probably what happened. 💔
