Birds have a very good sense of GPS tracking and may attempt to come back from where it left be aware have a cage out with the door open outside inviting with food, water.

Funny thing I live here in West Covina and the other day I was sitting out front and I kept hearing a different bird singing and once it flew across the sky it kind of resembles your bird I will keep an eye out for the bird and see if I can catch it maybe it's yours
