Description

Gonzo is a wire haired dachshund, standard size (so he’s a little larger than most dachshunds). He’s salt and pepper colored and has wirey fur. He is very friendly. He’s about two feet long and about a foot off the ground, maybe less. He weighs about 20 pounds.

Message from Owner

Gonzo is the most important being in my life. I’ve had him since he was 3 months old and he is now 14. We have been to 7 countries together. I love him more than anything and am so devastated. Please please help me bring him home.

General Information: Set up a scent station. Get a scent that the dog is familiar with out in front of the house (EX Worn clothing / shoes from a family member/owner that the dog lives with.) Hang it out high so that the smell can travel and guide the dog back home. Keep an access point open in case the dog returns. Please post signs with the dogs' picture and your contact information on the sign. Post these signs all over as if someone spots your dog the person can contact you and provide a location of where the dog is. (Not everyone is on Social Media). Ask your neighbors to check their doorbell or house cameras (if applicable), sheds and garage. Owners: Do not try and search for the dog - as your scent travels when you are out and walking all over can confuse the dog. The dog should only smell your scent near your home. Never underestimate the ability of a dog to find their way home using their nose. Call or go to the Animal Shelter in your area and tell them that your dog is missing to see if it has been picked up. Prayers your dog is found safely. Beware of scammers.

I am so sorry! Please take action! Please consistently check with vets, rescues and shelters (IN PERSON) - even those not in your area to see if he has been picked up. Also, please put out flyers offering a reward for his return. There are so many predators – including evil human beings! He is counting on you and I am praying he is safe and you get him back asap! 😢❤

Put a scent station (dirty Tshirt, socks, pillow case with owner smell) at the spot where dog went missing, to help dog smell it way back to where it went missing. You will need to keep monitoring spot every couple hours to see if dog returns to spot. Put sign with picture on front yard incase someone finds dog in neighborhood and drives or walks around looking for dogs home. Also, please check ALL local shelters and rescues everyother day to see if pet has been brought in GOOD LUCK
