Keeping an eye out. I live off Mill Haven. Check with All neighbors and ask them to check their garages and outbuildings to make sure he's not locked in.

Put out a couple of pieces of “dirty” laundry ..tee shirts, etc. that have been worn by you close to your house. Cats have a keen sense of smell. Put out M.’s favorite food also. When things are calm, sit outside as often as you can and quietly call to him repeatedly. If you have access to a trap, set it with a piece of clothing and favorite dry food inside to lure him in. So sorry you both are “lost” from each other. Wishing you both the best.

For lost cats: Alert neighbors. Post in NextDoor, PawBoost, your local animal control & humane society. Post signs everywhere. Consider hiring a pet tracker: Balynda Brown (who also gives excellent tips) 919-418-7953 call or text; Epic Animal Recovery 704-770-8625.The cat is most likely close. Generally they don't go very far. Try leaving the door cracked open particularly after it gets dark. It may come back in on its own. If possible, set up on Arlo camera or motion detector to see when it is coming around. Leave out food & water so it can survive. Cats often hide in storm drains. Try sitting in your car at the street with the car not running. You can watch your house to see if it is coming around. Yes it can take hours. Continue to walk at night & call it. Leave the garage door up about 6 inches so she can come in. You may need to set a humane trap in the area where the cat was lost but Don't leave unattended. People steal traps with animals in them. Don't give up - sometimes it can take a week or two to find them.
