If Emory is normally an INSIDE cat… then she is definitely scared and hiding and you will need to go out at NIGHT with a flashlight and look for her “glowing” eyes. She is VERY CLOSE to your house… most likely in YOUR OWN YARD. They usually find a hiding spot very quickly and very close to where they escaped. Look up in the trees and check under everything in YOUR YARD first… under decks, under sheds, inside bushes, wood piles and storm drains. Then check your neighbors yards. They are very good at hiding. THE BEST TIME TO FIND HER IS AT NIGHT WITH A FLASHLIGHT AND HER EYES WILL “GLOW” BACK AT YOU. Emory is so scared, she will NOT respond to you calling her, so you'll have to use your eyes instead of your ears to find her. When cats are suddenly outside, they go into "survival mode" and their entire personality changes. They will NOT wander. They find a hiding spot very close by and are very scared and will not come out for anyone... even their owners. I hope you find your fur-baby very soon!

If your cat is an indoor cat, it will be scared and won’t come when called. Try placing their used litter outside. At night, use a flashlight to check under your and your neighbors' bushes and decks for the reflection of your cat's eyes. ‼️Additionally, consider setting up a humane trap as soon as possible, as it's one of the most effective methods for finding lost cats ‼️. You can bait the trap with strong-smelling sardines. These traps can be purchased at local hardware stores or borrowed from animal shelters. While this approach might seem drastic, remember that lost pets often enter survival mode and behave differently. Be sure to research how to use a humane trap effectively. Make sure to visit local animal shelters in person and look for your missing kitty, and post flyers within a one-mile radius of where your kitty went missing. There are also many valuable resources available online if you search for "how to find your missing cat." Important Note: Be cautious of scåmmers who may claim they have found your cat or offer drøne services. It's best not to engage with them. 🙏🏻❤️

0Lost Cat Tips: 🐈 1. Look inside cupboards and closets, under beds, behind curtains and furniture, inside beds (under the covers), under furniture (cats will climb inside furniture/boxspring mattresses by ripping open the underside). 2. Get on social media and ask people in the area to check sheds, garages, under porches and hedges and keep a look out for your cat. Don’t forget to door knock too, as not everybody is on social media. 3. If your kitty is normally an INSIDE cat, then he/she is likely VERY CLOSE to your home. Indoor cats usually find a hiding spot very close by. Check under yours and your neighbors decks, bushes, wood piles and sheds. The best time to search for a cat is during the evening when there is less traffic noise and fewer people on the streets. Bring along a flashlight and shine the light under hedges, porches, cars, trees and roofs. The eyes will glow when the light hits them. Carry a container with cat treats to shake. 4. Leave a dirty t-shirt or some old shoes outside, this is a safer way to attract the cat using scent. It won’t attract wildlife or neighborhood cats but can be enticing enough to flush out your cat. 5. Put smelly food (tuna/sardines) outside and watch from a distance. Don’t leave food out 24/7, as it may attract wildlife. 6. Leave a cardboard box outside (under shelter),with straw in it, for the cat to hide in if he or she returns when you are not home. 7. Leave your garage door cracked open, day and night. Cats roam more at night and may return home. 8. Tell your local mail carrier to watch out for him/her. 9. If there are sightings of the cat, try to borrow a trap from a local rescue or shelter to trap the cat. 10. Notify police, vets and animal shelters in the area. Visit your local shelters in person, do not call and ask if your cat is there. The people who work there makes mistakes all the time. They even make mistakes on the and miss the micro-chip, so be sure to check the shelter in person. 11. Check www.petharbor dot com. This website provides found cats that are currently at Animal Control, the Humane Society and the APA. The website updates throughout the day so check back often. ALSO, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO SEARCH EVERY SHELTER AVAILABLE IN THE LIST BY DATE, DO NOT SEARCH BY BREED OR SHELTER. Be sure to check the FOUND BY PUBLIC section as well.
