Also 🚨Make Emergency noticeable posters (get seen much more by people , they can take a pic from their vehicles, also can see better driving & cycling AND more memorable than the notebook paper sized ones) Get NEON posterboard, black large magic markers, clear packaging tape from Dollar Tree. Cut each board in half making 2 each. Use the tape to also cover the picture and your handwriting to protect from the weather. Keep the writing extremely simple “lost dog /cat & phone #”. If dog runs from people write “DO NOT CHASE/ CALL” I add age if older, or “STOLEN” if needed . Add “REWARD” is up to you. Don’t have to say how much. And file that police report it’s needed for the records, especially if you get leads. Save & take screenshots of calls, messages, names,& #s. then use those websites to look up names, addresses or reverse phone number searches and take that to the police so they can go to the address that appears (It’s worked for me helping owners get stolen Pets back). and because police don’t do the work, you have to do the detective work to bring them addresses to go to. If you’re in contact with someone who has your pet or if they’re trying to sell , pretend you’re not the owner to purchase (they may say they are rehoming for a fee )while you’re letting the police know.

General Information: Set up a scent station. Hang clothes with your scent on it (Worn clothing from owner) high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely. Beware of scammers.
