Thank you for helping this beautiful cat Some useful info A rescue volunteer When you find a wandering cat THINK lost not dumped. Some cats are picked up and dumped by strangers… Some are stolen Wandering cats are great risk of harm by cars, unscrupulous people and coyotes and weather issues. If unable to contain call Animal Control..they will come check for chip and the chip may owner info. Or bring the cat to any vet they will check for chip, it’s free. Please do not foster out… Cats have a high risk of being lost in the system, and not be able to find their family. If unable to care for this cat till owner found please bring to a shelter, and post the name/town/state…at all the sites. Rescues can have a chance of fostering this cat as well once at a shelter. Some FREE places to post (add where the cat was sent name of shelter/town/state) OR your contact info if cat with you. Post in Local newspaper (it’s free) Local Animal control they make a report and check for a chip. These two above sites help those owners who are NOT tech savvy. And also the owner. Others Free sites to post on line PawBoost Local Neighbor sites If owners arrive get proof of ownership Name of cat know Know specific markings Pics of cat with them Vetrinary reports… call the vet to confirm ownership Thank you for helping this cat. 1. Please check for a microchip free at vets no appointment needed. 2: also post on Next Door. Talk to neighbors who may not be on social media. 3. Post flyers on neon colored poster paper and put in plastic zip lock bags. 4. If in or close to apartments ask manager to send out a mass email. 5. Cats are usually close to home within 3-17 houses or 345 yards unless they hitched a ride. 6. Please ask for proof of ownership like vet records and photos with owners so not used for dog fighting etc. - these sick people will even send wives, girlfriends or women with children to seem legitimate.
