This poor bird has been trying to get through the windows of my office all morning and seems distressed. It flies away every time I try to go near it.

This is a Bluebird who are a native, wild species. Birds often peck glass when they see their reflection and sometimes they are catching tiny gnats on the window.

You can buy stickers for windows so birds don’t fly into them or maybe hang Mylar strips to discourage the bird

This is an Eastern bluebird, a wild bird. It is attacking it's own reflection thinking it is another bird. Put something on or in window so as to stop the reflection.
