Yes! I responded to that on another comment as well. My dog has a pancreatic disorder and without her she literally can’t absorb nutrients. She would be skin and bones within probably a week or two without it. She’s not a German shepherd but German shepherds are very prone to the disorder she has.

Nancy Carter What organization are you referring to in your comment? No where in my response did I said the staff is not encourage to find a rescue, I stated that the shelter will get the help needed as well as find a rescue that might be a better place while the dog is safe. It's not a horrible truth though, there is no such thing as a no shelter in the big picture no matter how much folks like to push that. I address that very thought with even a rescue having to euthanize a dog that is sick enough that it's the best option. I'm still not sure what your point exactly is

Will Lashmit And... we get to the point... Humane euthanasia. The horrible truth is most shelters in NC are shelters. Unless we get a reputable rescue involved or a foster, this baby could reach that same fate.

Will Lashmit Actually they are one of 3 shelters our 501c works to provide food, treats, blankets and toys. I have personally delivered donated pallets of food and supplies. The shelter has dedicated workers who ENCOURAGE rescue involvement.

Nancy Carter You can cut the conceding responses because you felt some type of way when correct about the shelter this dog would go to. Have you even been to the Forsyth County Animal Shelter much less talked to anyone who actually works there or helped them? I have and help as much as I can, they have resources that any rescue would have as well as possibly more rescues that aren't local to look into helping if that is an option. Rescues don't have unlimited money either, so this may be more than they can afford medical much less addressing that the entire situation maybe an abuse problem that has to be investigated. You made a bold claim without any knowledge even regardless of the dog in question My comment was only addressing the wrong info being put out there which we have no idea the fate of the dog at this point and even a rescue may determine that a humane euthanasia is the best option.

Erin Turner we did feed him a serving of food and gave him water slowly. But as much as he wanted of water in small doses often. He was thirsty!!!! Pray he finds the family and love he deserves. He was so sweet. Been crying all day.

Stephanie Childress Mihalovits I considered giving him a dose of heartworm . I didnt because I dont know his situation, but considered the same thing. His ears were definitely on the verge of infection and he had scabs on his leg joints.

Will Lashmit I am THRILLED you are emotionally invested in AND helping this dog. That's amazing that we can all stop trying and move on to another that needs help. People like you are rare! - Stepping up to actually rescue a dog instead of trying like me to get rescues and others involved. So many are just keyboard malcontents who jump on true dog advocates, arguing every little detail instead of putting in real effort. They are full of petty criticisms and hunt out comments to jump on with no solution. It amazes me the effort they put into when they find a single detail, yet never help the dog. May God Bless you in like manner! Thank you for saving this baby!
