Patti Ann Where are you getting this information from exactly? As someone who regularly picks up stray dogs. There is nothing humane about letting a dog just loose and alive if it can be helped, too many of them die alone and injuried.

Nancy Carter This is not correct either, don't make assumptions you don't have first hand knowledge about. Stray holds have not got any short, there is a state law regarding that to start with and it's still 72 hours. The shelter is going to do all they can do to help the dog in need, let's not generalize.

Patricia O'Reilly Pirraglia So your idea of helping is just leave them alone to possibly starve to death or get hit and killed? Animal control is exactly who needs to be called to make sure this wasn't an abuse situation other wise no one can do a thing. Also nothing says this is a death sentence either, nor do most shelters use heart stick methods anymore.

Will Lashmit I pray not but AC will not get him the resources a rescue can. There should be a stray hold but those have gotten considerably shorter. This poor baby needs helping resources I fear he will not get at AC.
