Message from Owner

Star is friendly! She is a free spirit for sure. Loves adventure. We just moved here and my concern is someone may have taken her in thinking she is a stray or she just lost her way since she is not familiar here. She loves one on one attention. She is vaccinated and spayed. She usually has a pot belly on her. I will gladly reward anyone who returns her or can catch her until I can pick her up. Thank you for being on the look out for Miss Star!! Our hearts hurt without her.

A few things to help. Post on PawBoost, Arkansas Lost and Found Pet Network and Nextdoor. Also Post on local community and yard sales. Use large lost flyers/posters with 1 pic using little words with contact phone # in the neighborhood. Check local shelters often. Put scent items, t-shirts, towels, etc outside belonging to you and or other pets in the family, do not put the litter box outside because this will attract predators. Mix 1/2 juice from mackerel and water in a spray bottle then spray a trial from several places in the yard to your porch watching frequently or using a camera. There's also The Feline Finders - Pet Detective located in central Arkansas if you want to look into that possibility. Prayers you and your pet are soon reunited.

Lost cats are usually not far from home. They are scared and go into survival mode and hide and won’t even come out for their owner. Sometimes they don’t come out for days, even to eat (especially indoor only cats). Look in the garage, outbuildings, crawl space, under deck, and anywhere that they might be accidentally locked in. Let your neighbors know he/she is missing and ask to check their spaces too. Most people don’t necessarily think a cat they see is lost, because so many people have outdoor cats that wander. Put up posters at intersections in the area. Don’t put the litter box outside, as it will attract predators and other cats. Go out late at night, when everything is quiet, and call softly for your cat. If you call loudly or urgently, they will hear the anxiety in your voice and will be even more frightened. Walk slowly and call softly. They may not come to you, but they might follow you home. The last suggestion is how I found my cat that was missing for 5 weeks. Also, if your cat eats wet food, take a can with you and open it outside. The sounds carries quite a distance and might lure them out of hiding. Also, cats sometimes come home late at night and can’t get in, so they go back and hide again. If you can’t leave a window open, I would suggest putting up a game camera to see if she returns, then you can be waiting for her the follow night. Don’t give up. Good luck!
