FOUND / POSSIBLE STRAY CAT – KNOXVILLE/BAKERTOWN WOODS AREA. 🐾💗🐾 This beautiful long-haired black and white cat has recently begun consistently visiting my feeding station near my property and now appears to be staying nearby rather than simply passing through the area. At first, I only saw the cat late at night, but over the past week the cat has begun appearing reliably during daytime feedings as well and has become increasingly observant of my daily routine. The cat appears cautious but not aggressive and has been eating and drinking regularly from a sheltered feeding and water station. There is currently no visible collar or identification. At this time, I do not know whether this cat is: • a lost indoor/outdoor pet, • an abandoned stray, • or a feral-born cat surviving outdoors. I am continuing to monitor behavior closely and am preparing to humanely trap for the purpose of having the cat scanned for a microchip and evaluated through Young-Williams Animal Center if no owner is located. Please contact me if this cat looks familiar to you or if you know of anyone missing a similar long-haired black and white cat in the Knoxville area. I have also shared this cat on PawBoost and local Facebook community pages. I am currently unable to post on Nextdoor due to an account verification issue that is still being resolved with support. Thank you very much. 🖤🤍

Annette Brown It’s so strange because I have listed it specifically with the information of being in Knoxville, Tennessee. As well as specifying that it is in the Bakertown Woods area. On PawBoost it even gives a more precise location. Do you think that’s why my original post was deleted and yours shared via PawBoost is in place of it? It was approved originally by admin and posted on this page. Now it’s been removed. 🫤

If able, try posting on the local Nextdoor app (if possible), lost .petcolove .org and watching craigslist. If you post to other groups, be sure to add the county, city and state to your posting since the posting may be shared nationally. Also, take flyers to shelters and vet offices with a photo and report the pet found. They have a board for both lost and found pets. Remember, not everyone is on Social Media. (IF able, try taking to a vet to check for a microchip too. Ask for proof of ownership by either vet records or a picture from the phone.)
