Message from Finder

Male pup found and listed on the NextDoor app. Many urged her to post here to find its way back . She has since taken down the post because we were asking to many questions as to why she was not looking for an owner, but rather stating she found it and if no one claimed she would be keeping. Suggested Pawboost and other sites. Met with resistance. Little fellow was caught out in the rain/snow yesterday. She did bathe and feed him whatever was available. Her post was to ask for advice [?], procuring a collar, leash, food. This pup needs to go back to its owners who no doubt are thinking the worse and trying to find him.

The individual still has the dog. 2/26/26. There is no indication that the pup has been scanned for a chip nor surrendering to RACC for legal fostering until the real owner is found. Consequently, we have posted the information ourselves in an effort to get the dog home. Pup finder is back online today and mentioned she is concerned because the dog only wants to eat "people food." We hope to find the rightful owners and have a RACC enforcement officer retrieve the pup. While we do not have her address, the Nextdoor app administrator should be able to assist with this information. Please note that she has removed her posts, but we have screenshots of our interaction with her. Please review the post for further details.

A young lady posted on Next Door that she found the pup Sunday and looking for suggestion on what to feed it. Many directed her to RACC. She Claimed they were full. Supposedly RACC (? Phone) told her they had no room and gave her instructions on how to keep. (Unusual response from RACC). Several folks asked her to have pup checked for a chip. Story continued to flip flop. After 11 ish hours (overnight) she claimed we were being mean to her due to us asking questions about finding the owners so she deleted the original post. We have screen shots of all convos. Many folks asked her to have it scanned, post on Pawboost as well as Petco Love. We took it upon ourselves to post here to get the word out. New post up today stating pup was still with her “fed and happy” and if we knew the owners we could contact her otherwise we are to “shut up”… 😠 No indication she has made any effort to find the owner(s)nor scan for chip. Still holding out hope she does the right thing. In the meantime we will continue to try to get this pupper home. He could very well be a child’s or someone else’s support pet. Hoping when the pupper goes out to potty someone will see him. She called us delusional ~ we love screen shots!!

Sabrina Bates from the poster's description (and the poster is not the person who found the dog), the woman who found this dog only posted it on the NextDoor app, where she seemed to be saying that she was going to keep him. So she probably has not checked for a chip. And the important thing now is getting the word out so that this dog's family can be reunited with him - since apparently the woman who found the dog will not be trying to find the owner.
