Please have the dog scanned for a microchip for free at any vet clinic including vet clinic inside Petsmart; no appointment is needed. Post also on Nextdoor. If not chipped, please ask for proof of ownership such as personal photos and name of dog to see if it responds to that name. There are some people who watch these groups to try to get a cute free dog so they can sell it. I’m a Dachshund owner of 4. I would think this owner is very upset and worried and hopes to find their dog. Thank you for caring for this sweet dog right now.
