UPDATE: (09/25) Someone finally picked him up at the shelter this afternoon. Found Red Tabby near Independence Pkwy and Ridgeview Dr in Plano (09/24): Around 11:00am today, I received a call from Operation Kindness letting me know they made contact with the cat's owner, who had reportedly been out of town. They declined to share the owner's contact details, and the owner did not reach out to me directly. Both Operation Kindness and Plano Animal Services strongly insisted that I drop the cat off so the owner could retrieve him. Against my better judgment, I complied. I dropped him off at 1:15pm, but only after providing Operation Kindness with my arrival time. Unfortunately, as of 5:53 PM, neither the owner nor Operation Kindness had picked him up. I plan to call the shelter tomorrow morning and truly hope someone comes to get him. I am so sad and stressed thinking about the poor cat sitting there, scared and waiting in a cage, when he could have stayed safely with us.
