Message from Owner

My cat went missing and he’s an indoor cat so I imagine he might be skittish or hiding. I ask if you could please reach out if you spot him.

Get your flyers up! Do not rely on social media alone, most of my missing animals come home, because of physical flyers! I do 8X11 in the immediate area 4 per block, the bigger the area 3 per block and so on. I've had the most success with the 4 per page mini handouts of the same flyer. I will give these to the Mailman, UPS, Fedex, Garbage man, Gas stations, Grocery stores. Also fluorescent backgrounds at major intersections 8X11 or bigger. Also law enforcement and animal control. More than likely, it's not going to be your eyeballs. That bring your pet home. Also not everybody has social media. So we need as much help as we can get from the community. So make it easy for them to get a hold of you. and remember the harder you work, the luckier you get! I hope these suggestions help you get your animal home soon and safe. 😉

Searching for him is the fastest way to get him back: 🐾 Sad seeing so many kitties go missing just this week. Poor baby, he must be so scared and hungry out on his own. When a cat goes missing, they can’t easily find their way home using only their scent. You must be proactive and look for them. 🔦 Look under cars, bushes & hedges, look for glowing eyes w/flashlight, call his name at dusk when it’s quiet and they come out from hiding to eat. Posting is important, but please search for him, too. They don’t go far, 3-4 houses away, they stay in one place until they are scared off by dogs, coyotes, or loud noises. The challenge is finding him before he gets further away. 📣Please hang flyers near the area he went missing, it’ll let your neighbors know you’re looking for him and get the immediate attention from pedestrians and drivers. You’re the one that can bring him home safely, he’ll recognize your voice, footsteps and your scent. Post on ND, check SDHS Lost & Found daily. If you’re able to find him, PLEASE, please don’t let him out unattended. Cats have the intelligence of a 3yo, they don’t know the dangers, they face outdoors with coyotes, dogs, cars, and worst of all evil people who taunt or injure cats. It only takes an hour to train a cat on a leash, then he can be outdoors safely with you. 🐈‍⬛ Good luck finding this gorgeous little guy 🐾💙🐾 If you get a sighting, set a humane cat trap near the area he was spotted, bait it with food having a strong fishy smell. Traps are only $25 at Harbor Freight.

How to find a lost cat. Watch the video, then read the comments below for more helpful hints. https://youtu.be/g2eCoC63B9I Things to do if you've lost a cat (some may apply to your situation): 1. Check all closets, cabinets, under beds and furniture. 2. If you are certain your cat is no where sleeping in your house, put out unwashed laundry with your scent near your door. Turn the socks you are wearing inside out and place high (tree, etc.) so your cat smells your scent. 3. If you have a garage, leave the garage door open slightly or some way back inside if possible. 4. If you can safely leave a door or window open while you’re home (no other pets), sometimes cats will return on their own. They are usually only a few houses away from home. 5. Check under bushes and cars with flashlight early in the morning and at night. Look up in the trees. 6. Rattle treat bag or dry kibble. Kitty is probably close by. They usually only travel 3 or 4 houses away. 7. Call for kitty at dusk and dawn, and/or usual mealtimes. Spend as much time searching. 8. Ask your neighbors to check garages and sheds or ask if you can check. 9. Check all your closets, garage, under beds and furniture, pantry, behind sheds, etc. 10. Make giant neon posters. 11. Cross post to other Lost & Found sites. Post on Nextdoor.com. 12. Check SD Humane sdhumane.org Animal Control, Pawboost, Craigslist (beware of scammers) and other on line pet sites. 13. Ask neighbors if they’ve seen your cat on their ring doorbell. 14. Put water out. 15. Post on Nextdoor. 16. File a Lost Pet Report with the San Diego Humane Society sdhumane.org Keep looking. Don’t give up and don’t depend on others. Good luck! 🌻

They usually don’t venture far. It’s probably scared & hiding near by in bushes or an open garage. Most kitties will stay put in their safe hiding spot. ( if they’re not fixed they can wonder further, depends on circumstances) Ask neighbors to check their sheds, decks, garages. They usually venture out at night after 24-48hrs when they start getting hungry. The “witching” hour when they come out is 3am. If you see your pet, don’t try to grab it, it’s still on survival mode and will run. Just sit down maybe with some treats and let your pet come to you. (Remember, never put the litterbox outside. Other cats will mark it & scare your cat away. Just in case, also set some humane traps near by, hide them in the bushes where your pet might hide. Good luck & don’t lose hope. Pray to St Anthony, he hasn’t let me down. 🙏🏻🐾

Mice Cohn I was warned to avoid any offers from drone rescue services. What a low life thing to do. Try to capitalize on someone who's lost a pet
