Shared. Please have the pup scanned for a microchip asap. Some pet stores and most vet offices will do it for free. Post the pup on Nextdoor, and file a found report with the shelter. The family may already be checking with the shelter for any information. You don't have to surrender the pup to file the report. Post flyers in the area where you found her, and talk to people in the neighborhood. They might know something about her family. Include veterinary offices and pet stores when you post flyers. Check Pawboost, she might be reported missing on the website. Go back on their posts at least a couple of weeks, no way to know how long she's been out there on her own. Ask for proof when someone contacts you to claim her, and pay close attention to her reaction to the person. If no information can be found, and you need to rehome her, please contact local rescue groups for advice and help
