06/30/2026 - Found Dog - Newark, NJ NJ TRANSIT POLICE need your help to get lost puppy home! This morning (June 26th) at approximately 8am, this pictured pup was located at the Davenport Ave light rail station in Newark. A Newark Light Rail operator spotted the stray dog and brought it on board. The operator brought the dog to Newark Penn Station and notified New Jersey Transit Police. NJTPD District 2 patrol officers responded and took custody. This pit bull puppy was friendly and appeared to be clean and well cared for. It does have a collar but there are no contact or identifiers. New Jersey Transit Police patrol officers held the pup as long as possible in the hope of reuniting with the owner, which was unsuccessful. The puppy was turned over to the Associated Humane Societies Newark at 124 Evergreen Ave, Newark, NJ. Please help us reunite this dog with the owner by sharing this post. There's a dog that was found in Newark that looked similar to this one. I think the white stripe on the nose was thicker. You might want to check in Newark.
