Message from Owner

My cat has been missing for the past few days, it’s been storming outside recently and I’ve just been trying to do everything I can do have her come . We’ve put out food, litter, and used clothes but she still won’t come back.

Please check nearby storm drains and sewer pipes, vehicle engines and tire wells, plus attics and bats, garages and sheds, bushes and trees, and under buildings and porches. Good luck.

I would get a shelter, cat house outside.. Dog house or Cat and heated. Also put some cooked chicken inside in pieces with cat nip and your cats blanket. Cats smell their way around.. Front of the house set out. Cats will come to the smell of food. They love cat nip. If your cat comes to you, keep your voice low and offer some food with a good hearty smell..

Most lost cats come home/ are found between midnight-5 am so that’s a good time to look. Door to door with flyers in the area and flyers with nearby vets and shelters really helps. If sighted, It’s better not to chase, lost cats are even more skittish and spooked outside and will even run from their owners. If possible, it’s better to sit at ground level and talk in a normal voice, which will bring them closer to you. Even better, bring some food, smellier the better - tuna, shrimp, rotisserie chicken. If you can safely leave a door or window cracked open specially at night, the cat might walk back in. They can get locked by mistake in sheds garages and bats, ask neighbors to check and if they can leave doors open for a while. A frightened cat in hiding probably won’t come out when people are around.

Cross streets? Check carefully around the outside of your house and your neighbors’ houses. Cats don't usually go far initially and they can tuck themselves into unbelievably small and unusual spaces. One person found her cat hiding in the grill on her patio after searching for three days. Go out late at night when it's quiet and call her softly. Make large, easily read flyers and post them around your neighborhood with the cat’s picture and your contact info. Post a lost ad on nextdoor.com. Ask your neighbors to check garages, sheds, under decks - anywhere a cat can hide and get shut in. Borrow a trap from a shelter or vet. Don’t give up. Good luck!
