I’m so sorry this had a tragic ending. Poor Mango deserved better and the police need to be held accountable as they would if this was a child!!! Bad policing guys - very bad!! Rest in peace Mango 🐾🙏🐾

Michelle Burress yes that is true, the owner (my family friend) contact me at 12am about a sighting I went to check it out looked for about an hour and a little after 1am heading back home I located mango’s body off 398. I retrieved her with the help of my mom and took her to an emergency vet for after care services. Unfortunately mango did not make it home but she was located.

@everyone Thank you all for the overwhelming support and for helping me search for my sweet Mango. ❤️‍🩹 Yesterday, the Princeton Police Department entered my friend’s backyard while attempting to access a neighboring property they were looking for. They did not knock or ask for permission to enter my friend’s yard, and they did not need to trespass onto the property to reach the neighboring home. When the officers entered, they left the gate open. My 3-year-old Maltese, Mango, ran out of the yard while the officers watched. They did not attempt to stop her, secure her, or alert us that she had gotten out. When we returned to the backyard and asked the officers where Mango was, we were told that she had walked down the street. There was no sense of urgency, concern, or compassion for the fact that a small dog had just gotten loose. We spent more than 10 hours desperately searching for Mango. At approximately 1:30 a.m., our worst fear came true. Mango was hit by a car on 398 and . 💔 I am completely devastated and at a loss for words. Mango was not just a dog—she was my baby, and she deserved to come home safely. I believe the Princeton Police Department’s actions and lack of care played a direct role in putting Mango in danger. Had the gate not been left open, she would still be here with me today. I have contacted the Princeton Police Department, but I feel like I am being given the runaround and was simply told to send an email. Even the sheriff told me he could not believe the officers did not attempt to stop Mango or put her back inside the gate. I am asking everyone to please SHARE this post and tag the Princeton Police Department. I want answers. I want accountability. And I want the circumstances surrounding Mango’s death to be taken seriously. Mango deserved better. My family deserved better. 💔🐾 Please help me make sure her story is heard.
