Just adopted her from the shelter a few days ago, but she tore her way into some ductwork and got out. She's very shy and I'm very worried. She loves belly rubs, if you can get near her.

To parents of lost pets: Beware of scammers who will comment with links for "lost" pets services. (Including Drone services) And they will CALL or MESSAGE you also. Do not fall for their scams. Also, they call using what seems like legit shelter number saying pet needs surgery/help. Hang up and call shelter directly.

Look up in trees and under low growing shrubs and under decks on your property and ask all your neighbors to check their property. Please NEVER put any food outside unless you are outside with it. Food will attract wild animals that may harm you and harm your cat. You may try putting some of your unwashed clothing (t-shirt you've worn) near where your cat went into the ductwork. Try to keep everything calm and quiet and your cat may come out of the ductwork on its own.
