Note from finder: UPDATE: These dogs are now in the care of local animal control/shelter. Two young female golden retriever mixes were found separately in the same area north of Ellinwood, KS between May 29–31, 2026. Both were found without collars and appeared thin, tired, and weather-exposed but otherwise in good condition. After temporary care in a private home, the dogs were transferred to animal control/shelter on June 1, 2026 for intake, scanning, and standard lost-and-found processing. For ownership inquiries, please contact the local animal control/shelter directly and be prepared to provide proof of ownership.

If you can catch him and nobody claims them I would contact Golden Retriever freedom Rescue. They're based in Colorado. Kansas does not have a Golden Retriever rescue. They would transport the dogs to Colorado.

Any veterinarian office or emergency vet can scan for a microchip for free and no appointment needed. Put some found dog signs in the area and put a post on the neighborhood Nextdoor maybe someone will recognize it and know who the owner is. Hope the owner is found soon 🙏Please make sure the person claiming the dog has proof of ownership.
