Cats usually don't roam too far from home so shake a container of the cat's kibble outside and call the cat's name repeatedly. Set out the cat's litter box and some bedding with the cat's scent on it. File a lost cat report with Virginia Beach Animal Control and Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center on Birdneck Road. Check with Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center on Birdneck Road in person every day

Tonight when it gets dark, go out in your yard with a bag of kitty treats and a flashlight. Shake the kitty treats bag and call the cat’s name as you walk around quietly. Use the flashlight to look in your bushes to see if the cat is hiding Print flyers with your cats picture and your contact information and take them around to your neighbors. Ask them if they have been in their shed and then closed it because the cat can get closed up in the shed. They go in there to hide. A cat cannot be heard crying from the shed unless you’re next to it. Look under a porch deck to see if your cat is hiding under there. If your cat is chipped, make sure the contact information is up-to-date. check at the animal shelter in person to check if your cat is there. Don’t call because they don’t have time to look at all the cats that would match your cats description. See if they’ll take a lost cat report.
