Hope your Fur baby is home soon 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Post on Nextdoor and Ring Apps If she is chipped call the company and update your information. If she is an indoor cat then she is probably scared and hiding nearby and will be more likely to come out when it is quiet and dark. Put out a crate with her bedding,also your dirty clothes, sneakers, socks etc to help her smell her way home. Cats are scent driven. Leave near an entry points, partially open screen door or garage. Go out later in the night or early morning call out by name in normal voice shake a bag treats and listen for any movement or sounds from your kitty Put her pic on your car window and/or your front yard. If someone sees her around complex or neighborhood they might recognize pic. Keep a close daily check on the Broward County Animal Services website, under "Lost and Found Pets" in case someone picks her up and turns her in.

Look for him at night when it's quiet and bring a bag of treats with you and shake the bag and call his name Look under cars and in the bushes. Post flyers.

The best time to look for a cat is late at night after the daytime sounds settle down. Go for a walk and take a flashlite scan into the trees and under bushes. A cat can fit in any hole that they can fit their head thru they have collapsible shoulder blades. Most indoor cats stay close to home but come out at night. Most important is to make your presence known. Go out every half hour after 9pm and call for them and stop and listen it's amazing what you can hear late at night. Get your voice and scent out there. They are looking for you also. Look for glowing eyes at night. If there is a dog sibling that the cat likes take the dog on the walk. If you open canned cat food or shake treats do so on your walk. If the cat has a noisy toy shake it on your walk. Make posters and put in every business within a mile of the home. Let your mail carrier know. If there are teenagers in the neighborhood let them know they love reward money and being a hero. Check all local shelters. Let local veterinarians know your info. If there is a feral colony near you check it out. If you can find the feeder of the colony give them your info. Make large signs and put in neighbors yards at least a mile radius of the home. This ensures that everyone in the area has the info. Put post it notes on your neighbors doors to look in sheds and garages. Post on every Facebook forum in your area. Post on Pawboost and For the love of Louie. Check Humane Society. So important to make your presence known every half hour after 9pm. Make a bed out of the cats carrier and put soiled clothes from inside the home around the bed. Put it as close to the house as you can. Leave a shed or garage open check them often. Camp in your yard. Most indoor cats are found late at night. Don't give up. Do not put food out or litter it attracts every animal in the area including raccoon opossum feral cats and coyotes. Your cat will know that there is food inside and that is incentive to keep them close to the house. If you are outside that's OK but take it in when you go back in. If your cat sees a predator eating their food it might make them retreat further. Most important is to let them know you are looking for them. Hope you find your baby

Please post on Nextdoor. com Please check on Petfinder. com, petharbor. com, Petco. com, Craigslist. Please notify shelter. Notify vets. Make sure microchip is registered and contact information is up to date. Please post on Pawboost. com. Ask neighbors to check security cameras and all places a kitty may hide or become trapped…garages, sheds, outdoor pipes, crawlspaces, etc. Go out in quiet night with flashlight and search high and low for eye shine. Call softly and maybe shake treat bag. Leave unlaundered family scented clothing near your home. Notify mail carriers. Place posters out. Prayers for safe return. You may want to consider contacting a recommended pet tracker for your area who has tracking dogs, drones and thermal drones, and traps. Your local Rescues and veterinarians may have suggestions. If not, google for your area and require references. Please leave adequate shelter out due to temps

Please go out at night with a flashlight and look under bushes, in trees, yards and neighbors garages. She may be trapped in someone’s garage or shed. Ask your neighbors to check their cameras. Also put up trail cameras all over your yard. If you see her and she is too scared to come to you, you may need to get a humane trap and put in food and/or clothes you wore for her to get your scent, but never leave the trap unattended! Shake her dry food while gently calling her name. Indoor cats usually stay close to home, hide and come out at night. Create a color poster and put one on your door and go door to door with the posters to your neighbors. Call, go on their website and visit Broward County Animal Care every day. Take a piece of clothing you wore, drag it all over your yard leading to your door. She might catch the scent of it. Post about your cat on the Nextdoor app too. Missing cat: Acting quickly is best. Important - If pet went missing from home, do these tips at your home. If pet went missing while away from home, return to the area pet was last seen. Then modify / use these tips at the site pet was last seen. Most important tips, in my opinion are: 1) make the scent trail as indicated further below; 2) give kitty an easy point of re-entry into kitty’s home. 3) it’s preferably to leave open the window or door kitty escaped out of. 4) be sure to drape some of the scent trail items thru the open window (lay scent items thru the window sill, hanging down both inside and outside the house. If leaving the door home’s entry open, lay scent items on the ground thru door’s opening. 5) Leave the re-entry point open thru the night and into the morning hours. Kitty is most likely to return home between 1 am and 5 am. More kitty finding tips: - If kitty is an indoor cat it will typically stay in a 3 to 7 house radius of her home. - Indoor/outdoor cats can be up to 17 + houses away. - Kitty will hide during the day and only come out after dark between dusk and dawn. - Kitty may not come when called. - The majority of cats return home between 2 and 4 AM. - Go door to door and tell your neighbors and nearby businesses that your cat is missing, give them a description of kitty or share Kitty’s photo with them, and give them your ph number. photo and your ph number. The more eyes on the lookout for your kitty, the better. - Offer a reward if you are financially able to do so. -Place neon colored Lost posters / signs in your yard and in the neighborhood. List the reward on the Lost Cat signs. - Ask your neighbors to check in their sheds, garages and any vehicle or building that may have been open around the time kitty went missing. Kitty might have sought shelter there / hidden and then become trapped. - Also ask your neighbors if they have a ring doorbell or outside cameras. If so, they may have a photo or video of your kitty which will tell you what direction kitty was going. - Make a scent trail in your yard and on your porch with your unwashed laundry and sheets. Hang items over bushes and on your porch railing. Let trail lead to your front door, open garage or open window. Also out Kitty’s bed or blanket outside. - Leave an entry door or a window open that kitty can climb through. - Around 10PM warm rotisserie chicken or just chicken broth, put it outside. This is also a scent to lure kitty out of hiding and back home. Warming it makes scent travel further. - Throughout the night get up and go out side. Walk the 3 to 5 house radius and call softly, listen carefully. - Bring a flashlight or use the flashlight on your phone. Kitty’s eyes will reflect back at you. - Look both high (trees/rooftops) and low (under bushes or porch). Kitty could be stuck up in a tree or locked in a neighbor's garage. - A lady reported finding her cat recently. She set her alarm for 2 am, opened her front door, turned on her TV on low, placed an open can of cat food in the house near the door. Kitty came walking into the house. - One man set his alarm and got up every hour and another slept on the couch and heard the cat scratching at the door. - a lady who recently found her cat, sat outside overnight in a sleeping bag with a flashlight. She saw her cat walking right toward her in the early morning hours. Kitty came right to her! - Another tip is to use the warm chicken broth and make a trail of it from the street or yard up to the house. Even pour it in the bushes and trees where the wind can carry the smell. - your scent trail should always lead home. So start and end your walks at home. - Other people have used catnip to help lure their cat home. Alternatives to leaving a window or house door open. 1) open your garage door instead, even leaving it open just a few inches from the ground will do. Have a laundry trail go through the garage door opening and place some laundry in a comfy spot kitty can lay down. 2) sit outside overnight on your porch or in your driveway. Let the laundry trail lead to you while you sit outside. Have an open can of tempting wet cat food or canned tuna with you outside while you wait for kitty. You can also have cat nip or other delicious scented food with you. While outside sitting at night and on your walks, talk in a normal voice, or in the voice you use when you talk to your pets. Extra steps: If it’s in your budget, hire a pet tracker while pet’s scent trail is still fresh. And consider using a drone to search a large area. Yes, doing these tips requires some effort but to find a much loved pet, it’ll be worth it. These kitty finding tips have worked. Good luck and don’t give up!
