Message from Owner

Pepper is very vocal and was a living on the streets after being abandoned by a previous guardian. We had her in our home for a month or so but she would always try to escape out of windows or anytime someone was coming inside or leaving. She would always come back home or come to eat in the morning. We have not seen her in our home, backyard or neighborhood in a week and continue to leave food and familiar items outside. She is microchipped and also wearing a collar but her ID tag came out of the actual collar.

General Information: Set up a scent station. Hang clothes with your scent on it (Worn clothing from owner) high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. NO LITTER BOX OR FOOD. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely. Beware of scammers.

🐾 Lost Cat Search Tips • Go out late at night and early in the morning with a flashlight. Call your cat’s name, then pause and listen carefully. If you don’t hear anything, keep moving slowly through the area. • Check hiding spots nearby, including: • Garages • Window wells • Under cars • Bushes and shrubs • Decks and porches • Talk to your neighbors and ask them to check their properties, sheds, and garages. • Place dirty laundry or familiar-smelling items outside your home to help your cat find their way back. • Contact your cat’s microchip company and report them as lost. • Check local animal shelters frequently—visit in person if possible. • Post on: • Facebook lost & found pet groups • PawBoost • Create flyers and posters with a clear photo and your contact info. Hand them out and place them in visible areas. • ⚠️ Do NOT put out a litter box, as it can attract other animals and may discourage your cat from returning.
