Description

Dark gray longer fur, she has Cerebral Aphasia which causes abnormal gait, (wobbly), may fall over, or stiffen up, appears like a small seizure. Her fur looks unkept, but it’s just the way she looks. Princess came to us as an orphan at 2 weeks, she was bottle fed and at 5 weeks developed a fever of 106 degrees. Emergency vet said she would not survive and offered to put her to sleep. I declined and took her home to be loved till that happened. For nearly 6 hours I religiously administered tiny drops of water and organic maple syrup on her tiny gums every 3 minutes. At 6 am she lifted her tiny head and gave me a tiny meow.

Message from Owner

I am so sorry! I was writing this personal message in the pet description box and am reluctant to try and move it knowing I’ll lose it for sure. Cont’d: After she responded or “came back” from her little coma, she has grown, thrived, though with many respiratory issues, requiring hours of medical treatment. I’m an 82 yr old retired nurse and a person with no medical experience would not have been able to do it. Due to her frail physical condition the vet did not want to micro chip or immunize her. Her neurological condition is much like cerebral palsy in humans. My daughter and I are volunteers for Back the Blue Pet Rescue. We have taken in a multitude of feral and orphaned kitties and All have been immunized and chipped. We know how important this is so it’s not a lack of responsibility. Please, dear Lord help us! Our precious little foster fail has been with us for 6 years and is loved beyond all measure. She is sweet natured, Unafraid of dogs, other cats, even people which strikes the most fear in my heart. She’s only been allowed outside, in the catio, in the backyard, only in the cooler months and she LOVES being out. So, this morning, a windy day, garage inside door door opened, then shut, created a push on the front door and three of our other foster (fail) felines were checking out the unfamiliar territory of the neighborhood. Princess, however, was gone.

👉TOP TIPS TO FIND YOUR CAT QUICKLY! Cats: 90% of lost cats are found within10 houses of their home (ASPCA, 2019). I find many are uncomfortable knocking on doors, but it's important to get your pet back quickly. Most people won’t post a cat hanging around for a few days. Some people love cats and might take yours in to keep. Others don’t care and won’t let you know if they see it. A reward changes inspires them to care. Be sure to put your main cross streets and your City FIRST. THEN your smaller cross streets. Put a big clear photo from the front of your pet. Then add text with the information regarding your pet. When people do a search online words on a screenshot do not come up as well as typed words so be sure to include text with the picture/ flyer.. When you post on next door make sure you use keywords like: Black and white Cat Mesa, Big fluffy grey cat Gilbert. If you’re desperate to find your cat: Reward should be the first thing with the amount ($20-40) Location major intersection and City Then smaller cross streets in your neighborhood so people can quickly identify where and if it involves them. AFTER that put the details on the pet. 90% of lost cats are found within 10 houses of their home (ASPCA, 2019). Nextdoor and Neighbor App: A study by these platforms found that 75% of lost pets posted on were reunited with their owners within 24 hours (Nextdoor, 2022). DO NOT PUT THE LITTER BOX OUTSIDE! as it can attract predators (Bobcat, Coyotes) and even other cats. Experts do not recommend this. People don’t fact check or consider who is posting it, before sharing advice. No credible research supports a cat can smell its litter box from a mile away!!!!! BUT coyotes can smell fresh cat urine less than 24 hours old 1-3 miles AWAY! Older cat urine 24 to 48 hours 1/2- 1.5 miles. Coyotes detect scents several hours old. Their sense of smell is estimated 10 to 20 x more sensitive than ours. They track prey over long distances. DO NOT WASTE PRECIOUS TIME POSTING ON PB!

Thanks to our dear Lord, Princess had been found by an anonymous person and taken to a local vets office. I had just finished my long description when we received news through our subdivision’s website. She is safely in the arms of her people. Many Thanks to all who were interested. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
