Solid black

Message from Owner

Solid black, female, fixed cat. Very shiny silky coat. Around 11lbs. 2 years old. Strictly indoor cat, she’s not spent any time outside before. She pushed through a screen in the middle of the night. She responds well to whistles and shaking treat bags/containers. I imagine her to be pretty skittish and weary of her surroundings.

Beth Lorenz I’m going to try going out tonight and looking in the middle of the night. I have terrible vision, especially at night (glaucoma) setting the live trap is next, I just don’t want to catch the other wildlife that’s around. All that’s eaten her food I’ve left out is a possum so far.

Sarah Farley Mine did that also years ago. I was lucky and found him hiding in bushes shortly after. If you need some name of drone companies or trappers let me know. Usually indoor cat are hiding close by and trap and flyers really help. Getting out middle of night w flashlight really works. So sorry.

If outdoor cat; It is best to keep cat inside for their safety. Especially black cats. They are stolen the most. CATS ARE STOLEN DAILY all over. It is dangerous for outdoor cats. If outdoors, please get cat FIXED, CHIPPED AND A TAG with your PHONE NO. Easier to find if chipped and not expensive. Alert local shelters and police. If not microchipped, ck shelters in person every day. Not found over phone. Even if chipped, ck shelters. Someone found their chipped cat at shelter. Put up laminated flyers all around social media, utility poles, vets, etc. w pic of pet Go out late night w flashlight and speak softly outside for a bit until cat feels safe to come out of hiding. Flashlight may catch the cats eyes and light them up. Set up trap w tuna, cats smell and your worn clothing. Post on “Nextdoor” (so many cat reunite on nextdoor) and for “The Love of Louie”. Cats won’t come to you, they depend on you to find them. Scroll thru this site daily. Someone just found theirs by sleeping outside on their porch w flashlight on their face. They had food w them also. You are the best person to get kitty back. CHECK SHELTERS OFTEN! THEY DON’T KEEP LONG. Ck craigslist daily for any FOUND cats in your area. Traps really work. Keep older cat inside. They get lost. Play sound of kitties crying and cat may come out of hiding. Put a live trap out by the door, and leave the garage door open about 6-8" with cat food in it. To trap cat: A rescue bought a rotisserie chicken (or tuna) from Kroger and shredded some with some juice and got it in the first try in a trap. They don’t go far from home because they are scared and come out at night time, when quiet. If you use a trap, monitor frequently & also put a blanket in it with your scent. Keep checking this site daily for at least a year.

PLEASE KEEP CKING SHELTERS IN PERSON. NOT CALLING. EVEN IF CHIPPED, CHECK SHELTER ALSO. SOMEONE CHIPPED PET WAS FOUND AT A SHELTER. CHIP DID NOT SHOW UP WHEN SCANNED. CHECK PETFINDER DAILY IN ABOUT A WEEK OR MORE AFTER MISSING DAY TO SEE IF UP FOR ADOPTION. Petfinder is a free site where pets are posted up for adoption. Most pets that are not found because family does not keep checking shelters often.

Get drone before cat moves on. Put up large pic of cat saying lost on your front lawn. Cats won't come out of hiding until you find them or for food. They are fearful of strangers an will only come out for you. Go out late night. Call him quietly. Loud voices scare them. Take flashlight around close to your house and ask neighbor if you can ck their backyards. I found mine 3 houses down in bushes hiding. He wouldn't come out. Had to go get him out. Please ck shelters in person every day if not chipped. They have too many cats to find yours when you call them. If cat has dog brother, take your dog for walk and he may find missing cat. Someone just found their cat by sitting outside for awhile talking and cat came out of hiding. Neighbors don't like outdoor cats in their yards and will take them and dump somewhere.
