Please help us find Nutmeg. She is new to the area and is only used to being indoors. Nutmeg is a shorthair domestic cat with a tortoise shell colouring.

If Nutmeg is not used to being outside she will likely have gone to ground and be hiding very nearby. Indoor kitties rarely go far when they end up outside. Often they are no more than 50m away from the house. The trick is to get them to make a noise and reveal their location or entice them out of hiding. Sometimes this takes a few days. They are very good at staying silent and hidden, esp. if scared. Also double and triple check inside too as sometimes they haven’t even left the house! And make sure to door knock/alert neighbours to check in their garages, sheds etc. in case she hid in one and got locked in. If she’s not back by dusk this eve, go out then or just after dark, or even in the early pre dawn hours around 3am, when it’s quiet and open a tin of her fav. food/rattle treat bag, call out to her and listen for noises/a reply. Hopefully you will hear her or she will emerge. 😻💗

I hope you find her soon Also post to Canberra Lost Pet Database & Pets Canberra ACT - Lost and Found Pets in Canberra if you haven't already. I understand she might not be familiar with the area, but they don't usually go very far, so check neighbours garages and nearby drains. Some of these tips might help too
