Message from Owner

We are in Week 4 looking for our cat Nugget. If you don’t know the story- the day after Thanksgiving- my boyfriend and I lost everything in the apmt fires at Coral Club. Our apmt was condemned and we lost everything. We were able to rescue two of our cats- however our little one Nugget escaped and ran away. We are devastated but not losing hope. The firemen and demolition team both confirmed with our family on multiple occasions that there was no cat alive or dead in the apmt. Additionally, she had been a stray for at least 6-7 months before we found her. So she has experience out there on her own…This is why we are HOLDING ONTO OUR HOPE. Anyway, she is MICROCHIPPED. At this point, she may be further out than expected. We are not giving up. If you believe you may have seen a cat that looks like Nugget, please take a photo first and send it to me. She is very skittish. Leave some food out and we will be there to take a look as soon as we can. Again, thank you all who have supported us so far in this tragedy. We miss our baby Nugget so much and with the holidays coming up- we are already struggling to celebrate and this is making our hearts even heavier. God bless you all.

We are still looking for Nugget. She went missing after an apmt fire in Coral Club on November 28th. Firefighters and demo team have confirmed that there no remains or indication that an animal was left in the apmt. This confirms that she did get out and escape. It has officially been 3 months. We truly believe she is still out there as we have had some people verbally say in the surrounding areas that they have seen a cat matching Nugget’s description but she is too skittish to catch. We will not stop looking. She is MICROCHIPPED. She is very skittish- please TRY TO TAKE A PHOTO EVEN FROM A DISTANCE! She is a small gray cat with bengal markings. She is spayed. Please contact us at if you believe you may have seen her. Thank you and god bless.

Lost Cats‼️ Indoor only cats and limited outdoor access cats never go far. They go into survival mode and hide in silence. Most of them will not respond when they are in survival mode. 3 AM is the best time to find a missing indoor only cat. This is the time they become most active and responsive. Sit and quietly call for your kitty. Try to stay low, standing is intimidating to cats. Place some dirty socks and pillow cases outside. Your scent will attract your kitty. If you have a garage, place the items near the garage door and crack the door enough for her to get in. DO NOT leave food or litter box outside, it can attract predators and aggressive Tom cats. Because indoor only cats hide so well they are not as likely to be ed by a predator. Don't give up, it can take months to find a missing indoor only cat. Use a flashlight as late at night as you can to look in trees, under cars and in bushes. Try to look for the glow of her eyes. The best chance of you being reunited with your cat is to do a methodical search of the area. Most indoor only cats will be within 160 feet of your home. Survival mode lasts 5 to 14 days but can last longer. Once their hunger gets to a maximum they snap out of it but this is a dangerous time because they come out of hiding. The majority of cats will try to make a break for home on the 5th night. In addition to posted flyers, make mini flyers and hand them out to your neighbors. Some people don't pay attention to posted flyers. It's VERY VERY important that you look for her as late at night as you can. If you have other cats, watch them. If they are spending a lot of time looking out a certain window, that’s a good indication the missing cat is in that area. Wildlife and motion activated cameras are also helpful. a lot of people are successful trapping their indoor only cats. If you decide to trap, you must watch the trap closely, predators can a cat in a trap.

o everyone it’s Nugget’s owner. Thank you all for the tips. This is a very difficult situation because our apartment burnt down and the building is condemned. They have a giant fence around it and there’s a lot of commotion. We have a ring camera installed behind one of the nearby buildings- we see a lot of wildlife but not my baby. We have a lot neighbors in the community on the lookout. I am no longer living there but frequently check the area and the surrounding neighborhoods. If anyone lives in the Bayshore area, keep a lookout. At this point I feel she is somewhere exploring the 5 mile radius and could be out further than a typical situation. She is microchipped but she is very SKITTISH. Please try to take a picture first and communicate with me. We can set up traps.

The only way a lost cat can find its way home is with its nose. They have to use their sense of smell to get home again. Put anything outside that smells like their territory. Put the pajamas you slept in outside because you probably sweated in them. Put out their food your stinky socks your smelly sneakers anything you can think of that the cat will recognize by smell. Cats usually stay within a five house radius of their own home for up to a week or so sleeping in the bushes during the day and coming out at dusk and dawn. Those are good times to take a walk shaking the treat bag calling out but cats also tend to come out and walk around very late at night. Try to keep a door cracked if you can whether it's the garage or whatever or a window cracked so you can hear them if they call out for you. Put this on all of the neighborhood pages as well as lost and found pets sites. Knock on the neighbors doors and make sure they know you're looking for your cat. Good luck PS cats can smell up to one mile away from their own house.

Also you should install probably already did a camera in front and in back of your house. Because your cat might be close by to your house and when you're inside your house and you don't know it maybe you're a cat goes to your front step or something. Set some food over there and put some use litter that she used when she was with you so she has that familiar smell to lead her back to the house your house. Put the cameras in front of your house and in your yard way. Because during the daytime she might be afraid to come walking about because she's afraid of people strange people strange noises and stuff like that and she might call me at night time and she might come stop and buy at the house and she could be around your house when you don't know it like when you're inside a house not thinking that she might be out in front I'm sure you're checking it out but you just never know so it's always good to keep a camera next to the friendly house and in the back of the house and marking the time stamp when she comes around
