Rosemary Packard some kitties just need to roam outside.. it’s part of their personality. I have 4 and one of those came with the outdoor gene! He would tear window screens, run out with any open door when we weren’t careful. It was so hard to keep him inside and he was miserable when we did contain him indoors for too long. Yes, he was safer but absolutely miserable. Luckily our other 3 kitties are too frightened to stay outside too long. They bolt into the house with any little noise. With my outdoor kitty, I do stay close to him to supervise and bring him inside as soon as he looks to be trying to leave our yard!

I just lost my indoor kitty on Monday by leaving my front door carelessly open while I got the mail. I walked back inside without realizing she was gone. By the time I realized it was probably over an hour after she walked out. Searched up and down the streets nearby, talked to neighbors, then I asked by next door neighbor to please check her cameras for me. She didn’t see my kitty in her front camera at the time but later in the day she did spot her in her backyard camera. When we tried searching for her, she had hid real good in the garden. Took almost 2 hours to finally spot her coming out from underneath a tarp covering old garden tools. There was another neighborhood cat who was strolling through the neighbors yard and I think that was the key to her coming out of hiding. The other cat spotted her before we did. We then concentrated in that particular area of the very lush garden until we finally found her tucked into an old planter box! We had given up hope but she had been there the whole time. We searched for 2 hours with no luck but as soon as this other kitty showed up she reappeared! Don’t give up. Check cameras anywhere you can and then back yards thoroughly. And I mean thoroughly!!! General Information: Set up a scent station. Hang clothes with your scent on it (Worn clothing from owner) high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. NO CAT BOX OR FOOD. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely. Beware of scammers.

Oh no. URGENT Please try to do everything I’m telling you to do. My ministry is to help people find their cats. If your cat was an indoor cat only it will be very close to home hiding somewhere. Indoor cats are afraid to be outside. Check all bushes and other things. Your cat will be very close by. In addition, it’s critical that you check all your neighbors backyards and their garages. Knock on everybody’s doors and ask if you can check. Also, very very important to post flyers everywhere. Post them on all lampposts and stop signs for miles and miles. This can really save your Cats life. The best tape to use this duct tape. Make sure these flyers are up every day. Also call your shelter. Often people bring cats to shelters. Call them several times. Fax a flyer of your Cat over there. Who knows maybe someone may bring your cat there next week or the following week. It’s also critical for you to post on all lost pet sites and nextdoor.com your neighborhood watch. Please make sure you do this not everyone is on Facebook. Also walk around for several blocks look for your cat. Get all your friends and family to help you look. When it gets dark out, you must use a flashlight look for your cat when it’s quiet bring some cat food and call its name. Ask your neighbors if you can check their ring cameras. Leave your garage door cracked open. Also, please keep checking Babu’s to see if someone has found your cat and has shown a picture. Make sure you check every single day. I pray you get your baby back as soon as possible.
