White and Grey blotches, currently has scabs on her back and right side from licking too much

Message from Owner

My parents were staying at Sun Retreats Texas Hill Country and when they went to leave yesterday (27 May), their cat jumped out of their truck. We all searched for her for quite a while with no luck. My mom said she saw her, called to her, but that she just ran the other way (which is very strange since my mom is her favorite person). My kids and I tried looking a bit later, but still no luck. And I looked again today (28 May) while shaking some Temptations (her favorite snack). I thought I saw her towards the back fence in the corner, but still no luck. She is about two years old, and currently has some scabs on her back and right side (not pictured).

What to do if you lose your Cat 1. Search all places inside and around your house as cats can hide in small places. 2. Shake their treat bag and softly call their name. 3. Search at dusk and dawn with a flashlight as the light will pick up their eyes. Outside they tend to hide under shrubs, under porches, in open sheds & drainage ditches. You can shake their treats while looking outside too. 4. Put something with your scent on it outdoors, on a porch or deck if possible or in a garage with the door cracked. Sometimes the scent brings them home. You can also put out their litter box but depending on where you live, it could attract predators. 5. Post on nextdoor & Ring Neighbors app. 6. Post on pawboost. You can download a free flyer here. 7. Make a lost pet report to all the local shelters especially in areas that have close boundaries. 8. Post on FB Lost & Found Groups 9. Post on PetFBI site and use .org as the ending. 10. If chipped, report to chip company but don’t forget to change status when your cat is found. 12. Ask your neighbors to check their garages and sheds. Your cat may be coming around the house late at night.

It is actually not uncommon for a cat to run from the owner. They are in fright and flight mode. In strange surroundings that are scary so they run. It's too late at the moment but in the future, all cats should be in a crate when traveling and secured in the car. They should not be let out until inside their own home or a hotel. Even in a hotel, the cat should be in the bathroom with the door shut or at least put back in the carrier while going in and out. They are easily frightened Ina new setting. Dogs should also be secured in a car and have a leash on attached to a harness before opening a door. I hear of countless people being heartbroken while traveling with pets. I hope flyers were put up in the area where the cat was lost and posted in local lost and found groups. Don't give up.
