She/he could easily have ventured further than normal from being scared off from either prey or loud noises pushing her/him away from where it’s familiar. Try going outside their usual perimeter and placing things that smell of home (like shreds of a blanket or shirt, or vacuum bag contents) trailing back to your area that she/he knows. Checking neighbors backyard properties is crucial. (Neighbors will not check as thoroughly as you will, or at all, so ask them if you can check) Indoor cats will hide quickly after getting outside. Check under bushes and remember, when afraid, they won’t respond to you calling them. Someone in my area had their cat get out and she found him 3 and a half weeks later only 4 houses away hiding in a backyard under patio furniture. The only reason he was detected was because the lady who lived there happened to look out her window and see him under the table in the backyard and recalled seeing the lost cat notice on our community FB page. -put out (unwashed) cat bed/blankets/your clothes that smell of home -put up posters in your area- important-not everyone is on facebook + if someone sees your cat but cannot find your lost cat post -leave a basement window or garage door open enough they can get in.

SELENA may love being outside and I’m sure you have taken all the steps to get her home again and should that materialize PLEASE CONSIDER KEEPING HER IN. It's obvious you love her, miss her and want to keep her safe. There are so many reasons I could list to NOT let your cat roam, but I'm sure you have heard them all. You gamble with your cat’s life every time you let it outdoors. Is it really worth it? If you love them keep them inside. A cat tree by a window, a bird feeder and bird bath outside and some toys inside and you know for sure she will always be safe. My wish for you and your special pet is that she comes back home.
