Description

Orange Blind Cat

Message from Finder

Hello, I would like to report a found stray cat in the Roadrunner Reach / Prairie Grass area near Marbach Road, San Antonio, TX. Description: • Orange/ginger tabby cat • Appears to be blind in both eyes • Very skittish, startles at sounds • No collar or visible ID I approached the cat and offered wet food and water, but it would not come close and seems very scared and disoriented, likely due to its vision loss. It ran into the road at one point because it couldn’t see oncoming traffic, which is a safety concern. Given that it’s blind and appears to be struggling to navigate safely on its own, I’m hoping someone can help trap and evaluate it, or let me know if anyone has reported a missing cat matching this description in the area. I’m happy to send a photo and can show the exact location if helpful. Thank you,

I’m the one who saw the cat and tried to catch it — I’m also the one who posted this listing. Yesterday when the cat ran into the road, I stopped and got out of the car to help it get to a safe area off the road. I had a quick errand to run, so I went to get wet food and water and came back. I found the cat in a grassy area and that’s when I realized it can’t see. I tried to approach slowly but the cat kept running away — I didn’t want it to go back into the road. I put the food down and waited for it to come to the smell, but it didn’t. I tried for over an hour and couldn’t catch it, and near the park it found a gap in a fence and got into someone’s yard. I don’t know where it is right now — I’m posting this in case anyone who lives in that area, or can go there, can help. Please don’t just comment “do this” or “do that” — if you can, please go there and actually do it. Or come with me and let’s try to catch it together.

Omg. There’s no way I would’ve left that cat. I would called animal control and said, “Help. My blind cat got out and I cannot get him back. Please help me catch him”. If animal control gets it and takes the cat with them, they’ll put the animal on the euthanasia list. But if they help YOU catch YOUR cat, you can take it and figure out what to do with it later.
