I doubt two dogs jumped a fence to get into your yard but it is possible. It seems more likely to me that someone lifted them over the fence and put them inside if your gates are locked and there is no other point of entry. Please have them scanned for a microchip for free at any vet office. It is possible they were stolen and then for whatever reason, left in your yard. Strange things happen in this world. There are German Shepherd rescues you can contact to see if they can help you. Here is one that you may try reaching out to and see if they can help https://www.gsdrescueindy.org/

This week has more lost pets from animals going outside to potty and being spooked by fireworks , taking off and jumping over fences and bolting out of opened doors , than any other week nationwide. We have shared hundreds of posts daily on Indy pets: Lost & Found Sadly, Marion County allows fireworks for 5 days beyond the holiday, which increases the risks for even more lost pets. This is why our shelter has removed adoption fee’s this week & weekend to help clear out the overpacked shelter now at Indianapolis Animal Care Services

I love my dog more than myself so how in the helm does this happen???? She would never get loose or out of my sight.
