Put up posters w/ph.no./email 1 to 5 mile radius, call her name normally as you go, put the posters near the roadway and businesses so people will see them, ask anyone if they have seen her, usually a cat that has been spayed/neutered will not go much farther than 5 miles!! Email All VETS a poster w/ph.no./email, is she microchipped and registered?? Call all the shelters to see if they have her, email them a poster w/ph.no./email!! GO to several pounds to see if she is there, leave a poster w/ph.no./email even if they are closed!! CALL them every 2 days to see if she is there, go to several pounds to see the person in charge, leave a poster w/ph.no./email with them, go look around the pounds to see if she is there!! It will take a couple days for a cat to leave near his home, so put out food, water, and something with your scent on it outside!! A woman wrote online here that she found her cat when she went outside when no one was out and not talking, try this!! The pound has a cage you can get to put the food, water, and something with your scent to catch the cat!! Look around your house in every small place there is, culverts, drains, under porches and houses, under vehicles, grass, trees, fences, outside buildings and garages, etc., now look around neighbors and go 5 mile radius, call her name normally as you go and wait for the cat to come out!! Check Pawboost, Pawboost Community, Next Door, X, & 24petconnect periodically, you can also put her online with Next Door, X, & 24petconnect because some people don't come online FB!!! There are some LOST AND FOUNDS KERNERSVILLE, NC online here and some that have the person's name!! I hope you find her!! Since she has been gone for 2 days, you can get References for a GOOD Pet Tracker, do not get the References or Tracker online FB!!!!

I’m sure you’re already searching like it’s a full-time job …. As you all are out searching, it’s important to TALK to your neighbors, showing Starrfire's luscious photo, leaving your contact info. People will help keep eyes out when they know how much she means to you. Cats can become trapped in sheds or crawlspaces and need human help to get out. Contact shelter; don’t lose heart in your search ❣️It takes time and hope, but You can find your baby ! Please let us know when she’s safe ❤️ click image for more tips:

When in/out cats don't come home, it's usually because they've gotten stuck or closed up into something unexpectedly. Check under/inside decks, crawl spaces, sheds, garages, any other structures with doors. Ask neighbors to check, or let u check, those areas on their property. Signs with photo posted quickly all around the area can help a lot. Post on NextDoor, and on all surrounding lost pet sites. Critical to keep searching. Many cat owners stop their search way too soon. Creating a "safe zone" for him to reapproach home is essential if he was scared away, and could be stuck in fear state. Also, if he's closed up or stuck somewhere, he can't return until you locate that place, so calling for him isn't always successful. Kim Freeman Cat Detective has extensive details on this and other tips on her website. Hope he's home soon!

This also works for in/out kitties- Since he/she's an indoor kitty, he/she's likely very nearby, within a 7 house radius, hiding in fear. One of the most effective tips I see posted is- Take treats and a flashlight out when it's dawn/dusk/ night. Walk slowly, shine light under bushes and other areas, like decks and crawl spaces, and up into trees. Pause, shake treats, calmly call his/her name. Listen for rustling sounds or replies. Take a few more steps, repeat. OnlY do this within your own yard, so you don't accidentally encourage your cat to leave the immediate area. Many cats will not reply even to owners when lost. Important to keep ur voice calm and gentle, even though ur stressed and panicked. Post on NextDoor. Notify mail carrier that ur looking for him/her. Notify neighbors so they know he/she's not a stray if they see him/her. Look at neighbors doorbell cams for sightings. ****Indoor cats will often try to get back inside, but can't find a way in.**** If safe, leave a door or window cracked, with smelly cat food and/or your worn clothing nearby. If not safe to leave door open, make sure u still leave water out for him/her. Food, too, if u can keep an eye on it to make sure dominant strays don't get to it and consequently keep him/her away. Have a safe, warm box shelter box nearby.

The effectiveness of signs posted quickly all around the area can not be overstated. Reaches those not on social media and lets neighbors know he/she's not a stray.

If going outside is rare for her, what we found works pretty well when the neighborhood is settling down for the evening is to put unwashed clothing T-shirts etc. at the entrances to your home garage etc. Then what we have done is it too go outside after 10 o’clock at night and call for her very calmly. She is nearby and she wants to be home I have shared
