Anyone offering to help locate the dog using their own personal tracking methods should not automatically be discredited as long as the services they are offering are being done as a volunteer to help not something they are asking money for. I understand tracking is a business but it is also somewhat of an exploitation in my opinion when people don't have money and they're only willing to help for financial compensation or gain just because they're credited as legitimate people doesn't mean that they are there to help because they care.
