If this is an indoor only cat that never goes out, look close. Indoor only cats when lost get scared and hide because it is unknown territory and usually do not come out when you call. Usually are within 3 or 4 houses . Put out something with your scent such as a piece of clothing or blanket. Call at dusk, dawn and night and shake the treats. Get in your neighbour's yards and look under decks, sheds, in trees, bushes or anywhere they can hide. Put up lots of posters. Put out your worn clothing and her bed / blanket - if she is disoriented, the scent will help her find her way home. Go out in the early hours of the morning and shake the treat bag and call her name quietly. Take a flashlight as her eyes will shine. Crack the garage door and/or house window so she can make her way inside if she comes home. Make posters and flyers and get them up and out asap! Call all the vets and shelters in your area (call shelter daily in case someone takes her in). Post on the Nextdoor app as well to get the word out to more people. Hopefully she is microchipped and someone takes her in to be scanned. Good luck, I hope you find her! 😿

BELLA is beautiful. Now let’s find her. She will be very nervous and likely hiding not far from your home. When you’re out searching this evening take a flashlight with you. The light will shine off her eyes and makes it easier to locate her. Look under every veranda and bush and any tiny place she may be hiding. Ask your neighbours to search their garage and under their porch or perhaps they will allow you to. She may have also climbed up a tree, so look there as well. Take a bag of treats and shake them while calmly calling her name. Put up posters and contact shelters in your area every 3 days to see if she has been turned in. If you haven’t yet gotten her micro chipped, please do, so should this happen again she can be returned to you. GOOD LUCK ❤

- [ ] The kitty is probably hiding close to home and scared. Call the kitty’s name softly morning noon and night. Late at night. Rattle a treats bag. Put out toys and food and water. Rig up a cat shelter - place articles of clothing and blankets that smell like home in the shelter. Posters work. Make posters and put them up everywhere with your phone number visibly on the poster. Ask for sightings. Don’t give up.

Hoping you find this puss😕❤️ Go out looking for her/him at night when it’s quiet. Call and listen! for them to call back. Go down laneways etc too - they could be trapped in a garage, injured & hiding, scared… Knock on doors & talk to people on the street - they may know of her/him - someone may have taken them in. Post on All Neighbourhood social media sites. Put up posters - drop as flyers in mailboxes. File a LOST report with Toronto/other Animal Services in case they end up there - continue to check their listings! Continue to call - they won’t necessarily call you. Also, check their ‘deceased animals’ listings 🥲 ⭐️⭐️Consider setting a well-monitored live trap in your yard. He may be too scared to come out but may be able to be trapped.⭐️⭐️ You may catch other critters that will need to be released. Keep looking! Don’t give up on her/him .🥰

Shared. Note that TWO days is a long time to a cat, this is longer. If you have not yet done ALL these things, do them now. If you have, do them again and go further in your search. Notify Toronto Animal Services and check their website(s) for found cats. Carefully check around your home and property, focusing on small, hidden spots like closets, dresser drawers and hidden nooks and crannies in garages, sheds, basement etc., as she may have come home as cats often hide nearby when scared. Search all nearby shrubs, bushes and trees, window wells, garages and sheds. Ask nearby neighbours to do the same. Alert local vet offices, rescues and shelters. If she's an unspayed female in heat she may have been chased by intact males and have trouble finding her way back home. Alert local feral cat feeders who may spot her searching for food. In case she may still come around. leave her used litter and some food and water in hidden places near the door she left NOW and check later this evening. See Pawboost for more ways to find and sample posters. Put a notice in nearby neighbours mailboxes, post on local notices boards, in community centres, churches and schools. Go out after dark bring food and treats, search a 5+ block radius, stop periodically and softly call but do not make any loud noises or sudden moves.
