My partner and I rescued this pup off the street yesterday. We're trying to find his original owners and get him the help he desparately needs. Does anybody know him or local dog resources? Please comment or reach out. This little guy is incredibly sweet, and we want to make sure he lives a long and happy life. Yesterday, I was at the intersection of Fairplex Dr and W Holt Ave when I saw this little guy running through the street and along the sidewalk. With help, I was able to pick him up and bring him to my car. He did not show any signs of aggression, mostly just fear. He is soooo incredibly sweet, and despite being scared of most things, is constantly trying to cuddle up with us and get pets. He's even friendly with strangers (clearly, since we still are lol) If you or someone you know is the owner or recognizes this dog, please comment or reach out! Feel free to also reach out if you may be interested in adopting him or helping us foster. We took him to the vet; he has no microchip, is less than a year old, and is mostly in fantastic health. However, there is one big issue: he had a severe break in the ball of his rear right hip joint more than a month ago. The doctor says there's some good news and bad news with this. The bad news: Scar tissue has begun randomly growing in the area, and he is not using that leg, so the bone and muscle have been slowly atrophying. This means that he needs a Femoral Head Ostectomy, which is a and specialized surgery that will cost approximately $3,500. The good news: The prognosis for a small dog recovering from this surgery is great! Over 90% regaining functional mobility and achieving a pain-free, active life. We are happy to foster him and help him recover (and will either adopt him ourselves or make sure he finds a loving ). However, we are not able to afford this surgery on our own, and the doctor urged us that it should be done within the next month for the best results. Do anybody know any organizations, rescues, or other resources that either a) offer discounted specialized procedures, b) offer financial assistance to people in situations like this or c) would be able to aid us in his recover in any other way? Please leave a comment below or reach out! If you don't but have read this far, thank you very much! This little boy deserves a second chance and we want to give it to him. Please repost this or send it to anyone you may know who may be able to help. Let's help this boy out together!
