Did you let the baby back out to go home? Ask around knock on doors whatever you need to do. Maybe the baby got out but most likely an outdoor indoor cap and maybe an indoor cat that got out. I would start asking all your neighbors. Don't take it to the shelter that baby belongs to someone. It's white cat. Very clean so most likely one of your neighbors pretty close to you within a mile

Thank you for helping this cat!🐾❤️ **THINK LOST 🛑 NOT STRAY!** Please get proof of ownership before turning the pet over (vet records, pictures etc.) *Please do not feed them from cans it can cut their tongues. Check with neighbors. Cats don’t run like dogs do, they have territories and usually hang close to home but could be lost or a free roaming outdoor cat. They don’t normally go too far from home, very territorial, please ask neighbors within a 17 house radius to see if it’s their cat. Unless it has been picked up or hitched a ride from somewhere! Tip: If safe to do, place a paper collar with a note attached. You cut the paper so it will easily tear if the cat gets caught on anything. Write something like: “If this is your cat, please call ##### so we know he/she has a home and don’t rescue them.” (1) Contain the pet so it is safe from danger and escaping. (2) PLEASE Scan for microchip (vet, shelters, area pet stores) should do it for free (I helped reunite a cat that was lost for 3 years that had a chip so please get scanned) (3) Legally, you must report the Found Pet to ANIMAL CONTROL in the area(city/county) where found. ITS THE LAW TO DO THIS -STRAY HOLD VARIES BY COUNTY, OWNERS will CHECK there first.
