This will be an update. I stopped at the house on 15th street today. The landlord was clearing the house of some of the worst s#&t I've ever seen. A friend had sent a picture of the dog to the landlord. The friend lives in our neighborhood, it's the same dog. He has lived on a short chain hiding beneath a metal out building. Apparently they put him out when they abandoned the house 2 weeks ago. This l think explains his fear. I did remove his too tight collar, there are no tags or ID. Honestly l would not return him to his previous owners if that was an option. We have slowly been able to get him to take treats from our hand. If someone could help with a home ,ask around please. Also I'm pretty sure he does not understand English

Shelly Epley we are giving the dog his space for now I've not seen his collar yet. We hope he doesn't have to go to the humane society, his home (if he still has one) or a good placement would be great.

I just asked the lady that mentioned she thought it lived on 20th if she knew for certain where that dog supposedly lived? does it not have any info on his collar? Or were you able to run it by a vet to see if it has a chip yet? Such a beautiful dog 😥 I know that Humane Society does not open until 10 AM tomorrow. I guess they would take it from you. Or maybe a rescue like Happy Tails Rescue,Inc in Maiden may take it. I would definitely call them and if you can’t get them they work with Animal Hospital North behind Wendy’s off 127 and you could take the dog there in the morning when they open and ask them if they could contact the rescue to see if they would take it. If it has a rabies tag on it, at all they would be able to trace it back that way too.

Shelly Epley l went by the house on 15th street. They have obviously moved. I have no proof and I'm not criticizing or blaming but it appears to me he was maybe "dropped off" in our neighborhood. We have an older dog and another dog is just not possible for us. One other thing, the dog appears to be around one to one and a half years old ,very cute with unique colors
