Nicole Shimkus DeRosa just to clarify an owner still has not been found, the finder “surrendered “ the dog. It can be confusing with that word.

UPDATE: Mercy was brought in for surgery and did need to have the leg amputated and she's resting now. The leg was pretty limp when my husband was getting her situated in the car so I would guess that was the only option. This is all the information we have so far but as we continue to get more updates we will keep people informed. At this point, we are unsure what her clear path to health will look like. I hope she has another chance at life and can make a special pet for someone or a family. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far! We are still working towards our goal to give money to P.A.W.S. Tinley Park to help them offset her medical expenses. You can also donate to them directly. God Bless!
