Also due to my car accident I'm currently not staying in the area until I heal. I'm completely broken I just wish I could find my fur baby

If s/he is not accustomed to being outside, s/he is probably close to where s/he got out. Most indoor only cats don't go more than about a 5 to 6 house radius from where they got out. S/he is probably hunkered down, hiding somewhere close by. Search low and high, go search the bushes at night with a flashlight and look for her/his eyes. Ask neighbors to look in their garages and sheds. Go out very late at night or very very early morning, stand in one place near where s/he got out and call her/his name in a calm voice. Don't put out the litter box, it will draw predators. You can put out her/his favorite bed, blanket, toy, or your worn clothing. You can also rent a humane trap, set and bait it with her/his favorite food and put your used bed sheets over it. Don't put out a trap unless there has been a confirmed sighting of the cat. NEVER LEAVE THE TRAP UNATTENDED. Be sure to check it every every 30 minutes or so. Post everywhere you can (Pawboost, Lost & Found Pets pages for your city & county, Nextdoor, the Buzz page for your city) and be sure to put up flyers in the neighborhood, and in everyones' mailboxes or under door mats, in the several block radius. Not everyone is on social media. Also check your local animal shelters to see if s/he was found and turned in as a stray. Many of them have websites with photos of the cats. If they have a deceased pets page, check there too. There won't be photos. The color, & age will be listed, as well as city & nearest cross streets. I hope you find her/him safe and sound really soon

Beware of scammers telling you to contact some Instagram or Facebook pet tracking service. They are bogus & just want your money.

Has the cat definitely been sighted outside? If you don't have a confirmed sighting outside, or the cat was not seen leaving the house, it might be inside somewhere. Cats hide when they are not feeling well or are scared, or there has been some big change in the house. Look in every closet, cupboard, drawer, chair, sofa, box springs, washer and dryer, dishwasher, fridge, anywhere the cat could hide. When I had adopted one of my cats, he got up into the sleeper sofa & hid. Took me almost 24 hours to find him. My friend's black cat hid in a kitchen cupboard, way in the back behind some big pots. It took nearly 4 days to find her. So if you do not have confirmation of the cat being seen outside or seen escaping, thoroughly check the house. Good luck. Hope kitty is found safe and sound.

If he is normally an INSIDE cat… then he is definitely scared and hiding and you will need to go out at NIGHT with a flashlight and look for his “glowing” eyes. He is VERY CLOSE to your house… most likely in YOUR OWN YARD. They usually find a hiding spot very quickly and very close to where they escaped. Look up in the trees and check under everything in YOUR YARD first… under decks, under sheds, inside bushes, wood piles and storm drains. Then check your neighbors yards. They are very good at hiding. THE BEST TIME TO FIND HIM IS AT NIGHT WITH A FLASHLIGHT AND HIS EYES WILL “GLOW” BACK AT YOU. He is so scared, he will NOT respond to you calling him, so you'll have to use your eyes instead of your ears to find him. When cats are suddenly outside, they go into "survival mode" and their entire personality changes. They will NOT wander. They find a hiding spot very close by and are very scared and will not come out for anyone... even their owners. I hope you find your fur-baby very soon!

Go around late at night calling them with food and flashlight to catch their eyes. Check around your neighborhood under houses and in small places where they may hide. Put stuff out that has yours and their scent on it. Hang flyers around for people to see. Check shelters and vets daily. Update chip info if they have a chip and its has not been update since a move. Ask neighbors to check in their garages incase they ended up trapped in one. I pray you get your baby back safe and soon.

General Information: Hang clothes with your scent on it (Worn clothing from owner) high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely. Beware of scammers.
