Isn't she an Australian Shepard? Normally non aggressive, shot by a delivery driver but, disappeared into thin air. I'm thinking she was stolen, not shot. I have no idea what the front of their house looks like but, if someone knocks on the door usually a dog will make itself seen by looking out the front window. Apparently the front door was left unlocked, get where I'm going with this? He waited and told the Police he shot the dog but, did any neighbors report hearing a gunshot? I hope I'm wrong but, an injured dog missing for 3 days and nobody has seen it, hummm.
