Aww. Callie is a beautiful tricolor cat (calico, tortoises, torbie with a white chest and paws) — I’m sorry she is lost. Is Callie an escaped indoor cat or is she allowed outside? Her familiarity with the environment will dictate how to find her. Escaped indoor cats usually hide close by but are too frightened to return or respond when called; while a cat that knows her way around may have become stuck somewhere and needs help getting home. I have recovered many lost cats and assisted others so if you tell me about Callie I can provide complete instructions that may help. Please understand if you do just the right things an escaped cat may emerge when it's dark and quiet to sneak back inside. This usually happens within the first few nights but until I hear back from you please implement this strategy if Callie got out accidentally: tonight put something small but comforting and familiar outside (blanket or worn teeshirt laid flat -- not a bed, trap, or anything conuous) and tempting food at her point of escape, then watch from inside (DO NOT GO BACK OUT AFTER DARK!) and if you see Callie approach be careful not to startle her. Slowly and quietly provide a clear path inside and she may put an end to the crisis herself. (You may occasionally call for her overnight, but do so softly and from the doorway -- going back outside could scare her away. If you can't wait up set an alarm and watch again just before sunrise -- it's a popular time.) Also, although some will suggest putting out kitty's litter box, experts say DON’T DO IT. I've never used one in all the times I've been successful recovering a lost cat. Please read this to learn more about why it's neither necessary nor recommended: https://www.facebook.com/notes/lost-cats-georgia/why-we-dont-recommend-putting-your-lost-cats-litter-box-outside/1101245526665296/

If you haven't already, also post on Lost and Found Pets of Central Florida, post flyers asap for people who don't use social media, and PLEASE watch the YouTube video, "How to Find a Lost Cat." It gives excellent advice, and the sooner you use the tips, the more likely you will find your kitty. If she's chipped, make sure the information is up-to-date and registered. Don't give up hope. Many cats are found weeks or even months after they go missing. I hope you're reunited with Callie very soon. I'll share your post on NextDoor.

Hi! Please go walking through the neighborhood your baby’s name and shaking his/her bag of food or bag of treats. Use a flashlight at night. Look under cars, by bushes and any other place where he/she can be hiding. If possible leave your garage and lanai door partially open. Your cat will try to get back inside, especially during time when it is dark outside. The only way to find the way home again is by smell. Use some of your used clothes, put them outside along with his/her bed. Go in person to the local shelter to check if your cat is there. Call your cat’s microchip company to report him/her missing. Post on Facebook Lost and Found Pets groups of your area. Post him/her on Neighbors by Ring App. You don’t have to have a Ring Doorbell to get the app. There are Apple and Android versions of the app 🙏🏼 Post him/her on NextDoor App and on PawBoost too 🙏🏼 Prayers for your baby’s safe return 🥺

Go around late at night calling them with food and flashlight to catch their eyes. Check around your neighborhood under houses and in small places where they may hide. Put stuff out that has yours and their scent on it. Hang flyers around for people to see. Check shelters and vets daily. Update chip info if they have a chip and its has not been update since a move. Ask neighbors to check in their garages incase they ended up trapped in one. I pray you get your baby back safe and soon.
