Description

We are still searching for our beloved pet. Please look out for our Theo who would now be 3 years old. We think we saw him fleetingly in our backyard late spring this year and are still searching. He is neutered and has a microchip. Please feed him and catch him. He is listed on Pawboost # 71608101 We caught in live trap a gray cat that looked exactly like Theo but later found out that this cat was male also but not neutered and chipped as Theo is. We think this cat is likely another brother from the three kittens we found under our shed last year. Still be on lookout for Theodore. Thank you. Marian PS: We are still taking care of the gray cat we found. He was wilder than our Theo, hissing, batting, scratching, unable to pick up. He has since calmed down, found out he was not Theo when took to vet. He is not chipped or neutered like our Theo. On top of this he has Fe IV {feline immuno difficiency} A very communicable cat disease that highly infects other cats in the wild from fights/bites. Hense, we have been looking for a possible lost on him but have come up empty. He is in our heated back sunroom/porch separated from my healthy cats. He has become somewhat more accepting of me, calmed down and actually sits in my lap now. I am not sure how this is going to work out, but feel he is unadoptable excect by a no-other-cats household that is willing to care for him.He is very healthy now and around 3-4 years old. I've given him updated shots and dewormed him. I try to give him as much time as I can but I can't bring him in my hse. A no-other-cat hse would be best for him. Any thoughts or ideas?

Message from Owner

"Theo" is a gentle 1 year old kitty and greatly missed. He is a gray, shorthair and male He got out the back door left open by mistake about 2 days ago. He is in area of Crystal, 34th Place North and just west of Winnetka Ave a couple blocks. He is one year old hse cat, a bit skittish and is probably hiding in bushes or under a deck. He needs water and food and to come soon. Let me know if he is sighted or you have him. He has no collar but is chipped. He has two brother cats named Alvin and Simon who miss him too. His mother was ferral and he was born under my shed last year. Call Marian at.. Thank you!

I may have found your kitten. Grey/black. He was in my yard, but I could not get lost to him. Trying to take a picture, he ran over to the neighbor’s porch. I live in New Hope. Larry

Marian Eckhardt 8. Put out some highly aromatic canned food and also clothing or items with your scent. 9. Check at dusk, dawn and evening; keep calling your cat's name and talk to your cat saying things that you would normally say out loud at home. Searching on foot daily is very important as well. 10. Search and search again.. notify and talk to neighbors, starting out at a one block radius and working out further each time. 11. Let your local police department know. 12. Keep in mind that indoor only cats typically do not stray very far from home. 14. Let your mail carrier know specifically as they walk the area several days a week. Good luck and please keep us posted!

Marian Eckhardt Please do the following things as soon as possible: In the event that your cat goes missing, here are very important tips to do right away to increase the chances that your cat will be home soon and safe.* 1. Please read the tips on these websites: https://www.catsinthebag.org 2. Immediately start to search: do not wait 12 hours, 24 hours or even a week. Time is of the essence! 3. Check out window wells, in sheds & garages, under decks & grills, in bushes, in trees; anywhere a cat could hide. 4. Put up flyers immediately around your neighborhood. Give the flyers to local vets, emergency vets, animal impounds in your area and to your mail carrier. 4. Please post on Craigslist lost and found section under community. 5. Marian Eckhardt If this cat is an indoor only, shy or timid cat he/she may be very scared and disoriented being outside. The best time to look for him/her is dusk to dawn because he/she may come out when it is dark and he/she feels safer. Go out calling your cat’s name name and talking, saying the things you would normally say to him/her when at home. Make sure to check in garages and sheds, underneath decks and grills and especially in window wells. Please make sure to go door to door with flyers with his/her picture and your phone number on them. Post on Nextdoor, call your local police and let your mail carrier and newspaper delivery person know! If he/she is scared he/she is likely close by. You might want to get a trail cam or Wyze camera to be able to monitor if he/she is coming near the house late at night. Make sure to check in window wells and several times between the hours of dusk and dawn. Set up a live trap that you can monitor as he/she is likely close. If you need tips on how to use one, there are many people in this group who can help. As a cat lover with two of my own, I know how desperate I would feel if one of them was missing. Please don’t give up hope!
